Cross Save Not Working -- PS5 to Steam and Steam to other platforms

Due to the Steam performance issues (extreme frame rate drops, stutters and 1% lows) I have decided to move to the Windows version of Destiny 2. I made a new account on Windows/Xbox, played about 5 minutes worth of content, logged out and then linked that account to my main. Cross Save works on Steam as my main account is PlayStation and I dont use PlayStation anymore. However after I enabled cross save on Windows, my characters never transferred over. Every time I log in it just shows my new character but its named "MidnightFire#8112" which is the same account/numbers given to me when I cross saved on Steam. I also tried doing this on Epic Store and was given the same results. TLDR; Cross save is not transferring characters to other platforms linked to your main. I dont wanna use the deactivate feature as it will force me to play the console version for a long time, is there something I am doing wrong?

  • Was cross-save already active for the PS and Steam account, and then you added in the Windows + Epic accounts? if I'm reading it right, that's what you did and if so - adding accounts after cross-save is already enabled can result in the accounts not actually being included in the cross-save setup. If the above has happened, the only option is deactivating cross-save, waiting 90 days, and then reactivating as Bungie will not force an account into a cross-save setup but do not do that yet. Bungie when they see this thread will likely take a look at your account on their end and see whether or not your Windows/Xbox account and your Epic account have been included into your cross-save setup.

    • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. Checking your account in our system, we can confirm your Xbox account is not part of your existing Cross Save setup, which explains why you don't see your PSN characters when logging in on Xbox. This means that the fix should be simple as you just need to add your Xbox account to your existing Cross Save setup. However, if your Xbox account appears to already be linked on your end, then this means something has gone awry in the Cross Save process. In this case, the only fix is to disable Cross Save, wait out the mandatory cooldown for doing so plus any cooldowns for recent purchases, then set up Cross Save anew, this time making sure to select and configure all desired platform accounts at once. That said, while you wait out the cooldowns during the time Cross Save is disabled, your characters will still be available to you, but only on their original platforms. Also, please note these cooldowns cannot be expedited or removed under any circumstances, with no exceptions.
