The most toxic environment you can be in is LFG
These losers in LFG are insane. They completely just ruin this game. I go in just looking to do a GM. I'm a returning player so my ranking isn't high and my light level is 480ish. Good luck getting an application accepted. These level 11 Paragons, are extremely toxic and I attribute them to the game dying as well. It's disgusting. These people are disgusting. The funniest thing is that they actually aren't all that yet they try to gatekeep.
Edit: brother the people who don't understand how light level works here is astounding

1 ReplyOn one hand yes there are people that happen to be so psychotic about "meta", "Streamer X be their gospel" "Must play this" blah blah blah that they oughta touch a forest worth of grass. But vise versa, people are under no obligation to allow you entry. If they want to clear with "meta" or whatever bs they use to justify their lfg applications that is their choice. Just like it would be yours if you created an lfg. But I get it. It's wild folks get so demanding over a PvE activity of all things. Like how do they expect returning or new players to learn or even catch up? it's so comical lol.

Obviously toxic people exist, but i usually chalk up these types of experiences to a miscommunication between the poster and the applicant. When the app was how you did lfg there was basically a whole index of key words to look out for. Like if you saw quick in the post you knew it was basically a speed run. And I think that type of thing carried over in an even more confusing way to FF now that bungie forces you to use tags. Like I'll see posts for 'inexperienced' ,"experienced" players. I have no idea what type of player they're looking for. So it could have just as easily been they wanted a specific type of player but you didnt know because thier tags didnt/couldnt tell you that.

I don't play much these days but the clan im in are very helpful & will run anything with you, no mic needed, they have a discord, open membership - give it a go 👍

Ive come across so many guardian rank 11 people who are absolutely rubbish at the game. I've had better success running with people who are guardian rank 3 or 4 lol. People in this comment section thinking that someone at Guardian rank 11 is experienced or even good at the game is something crazy lol The guardian rank means nothing in this game

Don't expect people to want to risk wasting 20-30 minutes with someone under level and could possibly die a lot and burn revive tokens. Anyone with half a brain would kick you as well.

No we all understand how light level works and the changes they made to boost everyone to the highest in the group was both a good and bad change bungie made. What you dont understand is why we all are saying your low level is why people didnt want you in their lfg, even though youll be brought up to their level, most lfg use it as a quick indicator of how prepared or competent as a player you possibly could be. If a group sees you trying to join higher level content while being severely under leveled the immediate judgment is that 1) you arent prepared for this level and haven't got your gear fully set up to be at that level through solo play or 2) you are solely hoping to get carried through content by others. With a vast majority of lfg teams they dont want to carry someone or bother having to deal with someone not ready for the content and risk wasting their time. Light level and gaurdian rank in general is simply a quick litmus test.

Different combinations tend to mean different things. High GR but low light tends to mean someone who took a break after edge of fate. Low GR but high light tends to mean a PVP player who doesn’t care about the GR objectives. Low GR and low light tends to mean a new or pre edge of fate returning player. These are not absolute truths of course, but judging based on appearances is part of human nature. Some is on purpose and some is subconscious. Just briefly looking at your profile, what you say seems to be true. You seem to be a capable player who I would expect to handle the majority of endgame content just fine. The only thing I would be skeptical about you joining my fireteam finder for would be for something like an ultimate conquest or something like pantheon or master raids/dungeons. You could be far better than appearances, who knows. But that’s what your profile says to me. Making your fireteam finder posts is annoying but then you control your own environment. If someone wants to be an elitist weirdo for something like a vanguard alert in your group then that’s their issue. Get rid of them and find another person. Make the community you want to be a part of.

Best thing to do is create your own. Or.. Look for one where there is no application required. Good luck!

No offense, but why would you expect experienced players who are at max level to accommodate an underleveled returning player in a high-difficulty activity? If you really wanted to do the activity though, it would've taken less time to make your own LFG post than it did for you to write this post.
