https://medal.tv/games/destiny-2/clips/n0fIh2ZGJr8QkF6kRhttps://medal.tv/games/destiny-2/clips/n0fIh2ZGJr8QkF6kR Lots of small stutters within a short 15 second clip 2. https://pastebin.com/jb0irf8ahttps://pastebin.com/jb0irf8a 3/4. Following after reset on this past Tuesday, I originally noticed the constant stuttering issues on every map in the Control crucible playlist. It got to the point of being difficult to play, so I attempted to play all other versions of crucible. SRL is the only crucible playlist that does not seem to present a stuttering issue. I have tried all of the Vanguard OPs options and while the problem is a lot rarer for me to see and not nearly as constant as it is in crucible, but it does indeed exist. I understand that me saying "its everywhere" does not help nail it down and I apologize; however, I am genuinely experiencing this issue throughout the game. In Control, my 1% lows are as bad as 73fps when my avg fps is usually around 200-240 in the same mode. 5. I have no reproduction steps. Unfortunately, I simply logged in after the 9.7.0.2 update and was met with the performance issues. Nothing on my system changed between the morning of the update and a few hours after the update aside from updating the game. 6. I have been unable to resolve or mitigate the problem.

Edited by BlueScreenVW: 6/29/2026 10:34:45 AM1. I don't have a video but others have already posted those. 2. https://pastebin.com/6L5wkL2P, I'm on Windows 11 on a 9700K CPU with 16Gb of DDR4 3200 RAM and an Nvidia RTX 5080. Slight CPU/GPU mismatch, I know, but before 9.7.0.2 I almost never noticed any stutter. 3. The stutters on the Steam platform are constant and appear in every situation, more in ad heavy areas like Altar of Sorrows but they are more problematic in PvP since they mess up your aim completely. They are clearly noticeable in any situation where you turn or strafe rapidly or aim a weapon (and feel like a few frozen/paused frames). 4. More ads and effects might make the stutter worse, and also being close to opponents in PvP. 5. They stutters appeared from nowhere (for me) after patch 9.7.0.2 and I tried every fix I could find on the internet, like clearing shader cache, disabling V-sync and G-sync, lowering graphics quality, disabling every unnecessary thingy in Steam, uninstalling the Nvidia App, making sure Discord is off, and of course trying several Nvidia drivers including the latest but settled on 595.97. Nothing of that helped better than placebo. Edit: I haven't used exclusive fullscreen since Bungie introduced the DXGI Flip Model a couple of years ago - I immediately switched over to borderless windowed fullscreen due to the much improved alt-tabbing and (for me) previously equal performance. 6. I've now completely resolved the issue by: - Downloading the Epic Games platform on the same PC and then downloading a separate free copy of Destiny 2 to my NVME drive (which still has plenty of space for Destiny 3, btw). - Enabling cross save correctly (via https://www.bungie.net/7/en/crosssave) so that my characters and stuff transfered over from Steam to Epic Games. - After verifying that the stutters were totally gone on the Epic platform I also bought Destiny 2: The Collection from Epic (at full price, appears to have been on sale a couple of weeks ago) which immediately unlocked the Prismatic subclass again - I was afraid I'd have to do the whole campaign all over. I know, there could be a fix on Steam very soon but I really wanted to transfer over to the the Epic Games platform after all this failed troubleshooting for several days. Now I do have access to both platforms, of course.

1. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1PtJcwANt4 Issue doesn't 100% come across on the video, but the main issue has been random stuttering and frame drops since the most recent update. 2. DxDiag: https://pastebin.com/ZQesvC5q 3. Content: First noticed while doing Altars of Sorrow, but have also noticed it during Distortion public events and Arena Ops. Pretty much anywhere where there are high enemy density, multiple players and many on-screen effects

Platform: PC - Steam DxDiag: https://pastebin.com/Vrac0dYW Occurs on most activities - most severe I have seen is on the Pale Heart so far, occurs every 1-2 mins. Just pottering about on Patrol. I also notice it most on strikes at the reward chest stage where there is a 1 second or so hitching when the chest pops its loot. However, it does occur throughout the game. Sometimes I can go for a while without any stutters, other times it will be constant. There doesn't appear to be any pattern to it.
-
Is this STEAM issue? Someone downloaded the game trough Microsoft store and said that the problem is not there, but if he plays trough Steam, the problem FPS loss and stutter begins.
-
PasteBin DxDiag: https://pastebin.com/rxzxaen5 I experience fps issues across all activities even in areas with low player counts. The issue is worse when playing multiplayer portal activities such as vanguard ops or pinnacle ops. My fps is usually locked in at 250fps and I have my resolution set to 2560x1440 and I have the majority of my video settings cranked up fully minus a few like motion blur and texture anisotropy. My game does not stutter but my fps has dropped massively and fluctuates significantly with lows of 109 and highs of 210 down from a constant 255fps at my monitor cap. I have increased my render resolution to 150 to prevent my gpu from potentially going idle and causing stutters. System: AMD 9800x3d, 5080, 32GB DDR5 5200Mhz RAM, Acer Predator nvme SSD. Thankyou, for trying to fix these issues it's greatly appreciated!

I found something that might be a fix. I had this issue. tried everything. DDu to reinstall a clean driver. I ended up deleting MSI afterburner and no longer have issues.

1. Video 1: https://youtu.be/4HH_CtSEXSg Video 2: https://youtu.be/OLLL-CGwnN8 2. DxDiag: https://pastebin.com/JHd0jZcs 3. I typically run PvE general and end-game content. I cap my game at 144 FPS and typically get around 120 FPS in most activities. I've noticed the decline of FPS rates almost across the board since the latest update, with it dipping down to 100, 90 or even 60 FPS. 4. The FPS drops seem to happen in enemy/particle-dense instances. 5. I've tried playing around with the NVidia app, and have found little success. Image scaling got a very consistent 144 FPS, but with some input delay, which is a bit of a deal-breaker. 6. I don't really have anything meaningful to write here, but I will update if I find anything. I hope this is able to be fixed before the game ceases updates completely, but it will always be my second home. <3

Hello Bungo, Below you'll see a clip of the performance pre patch. Where framerates are "stable"/ Playable. Clips are played at max settings 1080p with a frame rate cap of 180, and No Vsync. I tried to find a clip of an activity with high ad density, and multiple players. Excision seemed to be an adept stress test. My Pc specs are an Intel 14900KF, RTX 5080, 32gb of ram, Nvme SSD Pre patch video Link- https://youtu.be/PYPiIngOrik Below you'll see a clip post patch of the same activity with the same settings. No driver updates, no changes in Pc overclocking, and no change in system specs. The only change is that I disabled steam overlay. There is a sharp performance drop. Reaching as low as 40fps at times. Same specs (minus steam overlay) Post Patch Video Link- https://youtu.be/b9FhAOvmpec Please see if a fix is possible for this. The performance currently is unplayable for Nvidia/ Steam users. The flux between high fps (90 plus) and Low fps (sub 60) is making the experience of playing d2 very bad. Ps. Sorry about the layoffs.

https://pastebin.com/gfeCXuMb I've been experiencing frequent stuttering and massive hitching in PvP activities through the steam version of the game. It's very frequent, it's bad enough to make the game unplayable. small footprint fx like flashes from being shot at and flinched, and muzzle flash even causes this to happen. PvE causes frame loss/dips, but stuttering and hitches are nearly non-existent compared to PvP Edit: Should've been specific in the PvE section, I don't do raids or dungeons much lately, I mostly do public events Not sure if this is considered a reproduction, seems more like a "fix", but the community has found that some people can alleviate the issue somewhat by turning off gpu accel in steam, the steam overlay, and signing out of the steam friends list as a temporary fix. Thank you for all that you've done <3

Hello, first of all - thank you. Myself (and I suppose many many others) have been really nervous about the state of our game because many of us (myself included) would like to play D2 for many years to come and like this it really isn't possible. I do not have access to my computer now and won't have for a couple of days, so I figured I would do my best to at least summarize it. I experienced several issues since MoT update (crashes when minimalized, longer load times than usual, higher FPS fluctuations), however the main portion of issues started after tuesday's patch. In other words - the performance since MoT got like 20% worse, and fell to about 50-60% worse after the last patch. In orbit everything is fine. On character screen however (while on orbit) I get roughly 30-50 less FPS than usual. This is even worse when doing the same while being anywhere else than orbit. When trying to move my character the motion is far from smooth, stuttering heavily. When it comes to destinations , I am getting frequent FPS drops with 1% lows getting as low as 10-20. This persists on all planets, but some are affected more than the others. The Moon is almost unplayable, with severe stuttering and FPS not exceeding 60-80 with drops as low as 15. Neomuna and the Tower are almost as problematic. Regarding activities - basically anything with more players (PvP, arena, gambit, public events + distortions) is problematic. FPS drops, stuttering. Solo ops perform the same as soon as you start using a lot of abilities (say stasis titan with crystals for example). Rumble/Control also as Terminal Overload and public events on Moon/Cosmodrome (and especially during Distortions) are very problematic and highly unstable. The issues seem to be present all the time, no need to do anything to trigger them. They get stronger the more effects or players are in close proximity. What I tried: 1/ complete re-install of the game through Steam 2/ swapping in-game settings (lowest show the same issues as my personal mixture of high/medium I usually use) 3/ turning on/off G-sync (via nVidia control panel) 4/ deleting cache from Destiny 2 folder 5/ updating my GC drivers and multiple PC reboots Nothing helped. And just to note: I didn't change anything initially from before the tuesday's patch and until the issues started (after the patch). Hope this helps. Please excuse my non-technical explanation. System specs: i5-11400f / RTX 3060Ti / 16 GB RAM / Windows 11

Edited by The Cooler Coolmannico: 6/28/2026 6:24:31 AM1. https://youtu.be/SqMpJ_wjsx0 - Steam version. 4k. 73fps avg. I don't think the stuttering and jitters come across in video as apparently as it comes across in real time, but it feels really bad to play. Constant jitters, constant frame drops, constant stutters. I don't consider the game worth playing in this state. (forgive the gameplay, my eyes were mostly locked to the performance tool) https://youtu.be/cgJSq2Ab3Ms - Epic version. 4k. 104fps avg There's still some frame drops, but that's just the limit of my system I think. Without the tool I wouldn't have even noticed. Not stuttery at all, no jitters, runs at a much higher avg fps, just feels smooth. 2. https://pastebin.com/s1yDHsYd 3. The problem persists to some extent in every piece of content in the game. GMs, patrol events, orbit, arena ops, tower (though the tower is just light micro stuttering). Everything is impacted. 4. Altar of Sorrows (but the moon in general), and terminal overload on Neomuna were particularly terrible from what I've tried, significant frame drops and stuttering. But really, it just gets bad in any activity whenever there are heavy amounts of effects or enemies on the screen. 5. I know you said it's not as helpful, but I have not really found any particular method of reproduction short of "just playing the game". It's present from the moment I launch the game, and setting changes/armor/mods/weapons make little to no difference. 6. There's been some suggested fixes on reddit, none worked for me. The only true fix has been to install D2 on Epic Launcher. My stutter and frame drop problems are non-existant there. For me personally, this is strictly a steam related issue, and has only been an issue since the last hotfix, it's been smooth for years beforehand. I appreciate you guys still helping even despite the circumstances.

I apologize but I have no recording software so I can't upload a video form of evidence of the issues I am having but I will do my best to explain. Ever since the Monuments of Triumph update my game has been averaging around 70 fps in places that, prior to the update, I was consistently getting at the very least 100 fps. This problem is extremely prevalent in very action heavy moments with a lot of particle effects and heavy enemy spawns. Again, prior to this update, I had no issue maintaining 100+ fps even with a lot of visual noise happening in-game. 2. https://pastebin.com/gtFh6euq 3. Typically happening across the whole game, but in quiet social spaces my performance improves slightly. In patrols and active arena's or Vanguard Ops activities the performance suffers, and it effects raid and dungeon activities as well. I recently played through the Renegades Campaign and the performance suffered through that as well. It seems to be effecting me across the board since the update. 5. I have consistently had these performance issues when loading into a destination. (Thats actually how I have been testing to see if any of the solutions I have found across many online forums is improving my performance or not.) I load into the Moon and go to Archer's Line and my FPS immediately dips into the high 60s or low 70s. 6. I have tried manually installing my NVIDIA drivers, disabling Steam Pre-Shader Caching, disabling Steam Input, Turning off Windows full screen optimization, and enabling fixed DPI scaling and all of these have not shown any improvement at all. I just want to say, I appreciate any effort that can be put into fixing this issue. Despite the faltering performance, I absolutely adore this game and it has been an absolutely massive part of my life. I will continue to play and bear the low framerates because Destiny really means so much to me. Best of luck in your future endeavors to whoever may end up reading this. Thank you, and I hope we can get this whole issue sorted out for one of my all-time favorite games.

DxDiag: https://pastebin.com/xChNpzsZ No video as it's extremely low fps all around, was hitting 160-180 fps consistently even in arenas and other activities with a lot of ads and players however I'm not hovering around 70 and even dropping below 60 fps in some strikes. Have checked my pc and ran a few benchmark tests and it's working perfectly.
-
https://pastebin.com/262kBMib Most commonly happens when there's a large number of enemies or other players. It gets especially bad doing Arena Ops -> Astral Alignment. I would say that it's an issue on all arena ops I've tried, but Astral Alignment seems to be the worst, especially the sections where you have to shoot the skorn wisps.

1 ReplySomehow disabling Nvidia Reflex on the graphics option helps a little bit.

Hi, Also having massive stuttering issues, but it's only happening when I move my mouse. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szE4eNXmV-U DxDiag: https://pastebin.com/PXF6CT50 This was occurring no matter what I loaded into, Tower, Patrol Zones, etc.

Big framerate drops and stutters across the board in all game modes and patrol spaces I now get 40 to 50 fps less generally and lot of instant drops and stutters. DXDIAG: https://pastebin.com/hKYyxLQy

Seems like the frame rate is just much lower than usual all across the board in all activities I’ve played thus far with mini stuttering here and there that make the game a lot less smooth I’m not at PC at the moment to do the command but my cpu and gpu are: CPU: I9-14900kf GPU: RTX 5080

https://imgur.com/a/BDbkDd9 https://pastebin.com/N2LfvuUb I've noticed it all over the game. In the clip I've linked, it's during the Calus encounter in pantheon. I get fps drops throughout the encounter consistently. I notice significant fps drops whenever I'm opening the inventory menu during encounters. Enemy spawns also seem to cause FPS drops.
