[BNG] Framerate issues? Please share your information here

Hi everyone. We've been reviewing your reports and are seeking additional information that could assist with our investigation. Can everyone please: 1. Share a video of this issue occurring on your PC? A YouTube, Twitter, or Imgur.com link are the best ways for us to view it. 2. Share your DxDiag? To find this information:
• Press (Windows Key + R) to bring up the Run dialog box, enter this command: “dxdiag” (without quotation marks). • Click on “Save all information”. • Copy the text and use a text dump website (i.e., PasteBin.com) to paste the information. Please don't use Google Drive. • Create a link and post it here.
3. Explain what type of content you're playing, and what playlist, mode, and map/op you experienced this occurring in? (ex. Crucible Control on Javelin-4, Vanguard Fireteam Op Glassway on Master, etc.) 4. If you experience this worse when doing specific things or playing specific modes/maps? If so, please share how, and if you did anything that fixed it. 5. Any Reproduction Steps you know that can cause this issue to appear every time? Is it a change to your settings? Certain armor, mods, or weapons? Etc. (Please note that we're not looking for "just play PvP" type of information; not that it's unhelpful, but precise steps would really help here) 6. Any information or steps you performed that resolved this issue for you. Many thanks!

  • I’ve tried both the Epic store version and XBOX PC App versions and the framepacing issue is not affected with those launchers, only Steam.

    • I've been experience the frame pacing issues that many PC players have mentioned, and I'd like to help out with finding fixes. I've also been receiving Plum errors on my system due to a BattleEye query failing. I have done some debloating and system hardening, but I've never installed software that would allow me to cheat, or affect the game in anyway. If you're unsure, there are Iron Banner matches included in the playlist below. Please bear witness to my... "skill." 1. I borrowed someone's idea and created a playlist of raw footage on Youtube, here's the link! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFSXR85MujBw Please feel free to skip around the recordings, as I didn't attempt any editing or cleanup. 2. PasteBin to my dxdiag: https://pastebin.com/ss1aF66h Yes, I'm aware I'm playing on an overclocked toaster, but I managed fine before the latest update. 3. Crucible Ops: Iron Banner, control and eruption on all maps, but especially on Exodus Blue and Widow's Court. Lawless Frontier: Bounty Hunt and Smuggle on each location on Grandmaster (Invadable or not), but particularly on Hellas Fortitude and Freehold Outskirts. Vanguard Ops: Solo Ops, Skywatch on Ultimate, Hive runs are almost unplayable while Fallen runs are manageable. Dungeons: Ghosts of the Deep. This occurs sporadically in other activities as well; however, SRL races are as smooth as butter. Doesn't help my driving at all, but hey, what can ya do. 4. Please refer to 3. Suggested Steam related fixes such as disabling the overlay, turning off GPU acceleration in webviews and disabling shader precaching reduced the intensity of the stutters, but they still occur frequently. 5. There are no precise reproduction steps in my experience. I do notice short, almost pauses right berfore being killed in the Crucible, especially if the fight was close (as in the other player was almost dead as well). A greater amount of enemies on screen (think Ecthar encounter in GotD or GM Lawless Frontier exfil objectives) cause increased stuttering and short pauses as well. 6. Please refer to 4, that's the best I've got so far. Thank you for your help, and I wish you all the best in these trying times!

    • I have been encountering this issue as well. It is practically identical to others who have responded to this post. It seems to only occur on the Steam platform. I have consistently been having frame stuttering issues when playing on steam, no matter what the activity is. I've been trying to adjust video settings and Steam settings as was suggested, but alas, the issue was not resolved. I eventually got frustrated enough to download the game through the Epic store. Playing through the Epic store results in a substantially smoother experience. There have been no frame stuttering issues and the game is running incredibly smooth. Here is my dxdiag: https://pastebin.com/sh1U4wQm. Hope it helps. I hope there is a solution to this issue. The game has been amazing for me on Steam for many years. Only in the past week or two have I had severe performance issues with the game.

    • From what I gather, this post is just here for the sake of it, and no fixes will be made for the performance issues on Steam. I had already raised the issue of PC performance back during the Halloween event on the Moon; I found it unacceptable that—with an i5-13600K, an RX 9070 XT, and 6000 MHz DDR5 RAM—I could drop below 90 FPS at 1080p on low settings, and the problem still persists! This studio couldn't care less about us or our performance issues. In the meantime, I upgraded my processor to an i9-13900K, yet the problems remain and have actually gotten worse since the update on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. This studio deserves its fate; the community has been more than patient and kind to them! At least being unemployed will give them more time to decide which hair color to choose.

    • I was consistently getting 140 fps during the weeks of the glitched artifacts. No problems at all.. All of a sudden I'm getting anywhere from 70-80 fps in pve. Especially in patrol areas it gets really bad. In pvp I'm getting really bad fps drops when I ADS with a 120 rpm hand cannon. I don't know why. I think whatever you guys did to patch the artifact glitches lowered game performances. Here's the link to my dxdiag https://pastebin.com/YBC5qMgS Please help

Only strikes are somewhat unaffected, but still have fps issues. Rest is a total mess. Fps drops all the time, pvp, tower, free roam.

The game is still running very poorly for me. The game has run perfectly on my PC for years, up until the first hotfix after MoT. It would be a shame to break the performance of the game with one of the last ever updates and then not fix it. I would hate for my final memories of this game to be spoiled by this.

        • I've been noticing the game feeling very sluggish for a long time my razor program shows me averaging 48 FPS as back as January which is as far as I can get logs for. Last year I never had any problems I could have over 140 FPS on maximum quality settings. Now even if I change my graphics for the best performance over quality it doesn't even change my FPS. Even when I'm just at the character select screen or in orbit I'm still only getting around 40 FPS If there's a lot of stuff going on like stasis and strand I can dip into 30 FPS. I'm playing on Steam and these are my computer specs Device Name DESKTOP Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz 3.79 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) Storage 1.82 TB SSD Samsung SSD 980 PRO 2TB, 954 GB SSD INTEL SSDPEKNU010TZ Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti (12 GB), Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 (128 MB) System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

          1. Recording just makes the issue worse, i can go and record if really needed 2. https://pastebin.com/sGLT4zSC 3. Pretty much any time i get into combat i notice my frames instantly dip from its normal 120+ to 60 or lower, altars of sorrow and distortion events tank it low and dessert perpetual bosses tank it even further 4. Ive tried every recommendation Ive found and so far nothing has worked 5. i wish i didnt have to say this but yeah its just simply getting into combat or denser game play areas where a lot is happening that my frames just drop. 5. the one thing that i have found to work is downloading the xbox/windows version of the game on my pc instead of using steams version and my frames returned to how they were before (still get a little low in altars of sorrow, around 65-75, but thats probably my computer being bad or something) i dont want to use this option as i will have none of my dlc but its the only thing i have found to have any kind of success

        • Is there any update on this? I would have -blam!- loved to been able to play IB this week to get the new armor set! But I'm on Steam so I can't do -blam!-! My pc already ran this game poorly and now with this I get 20-30 FPS in most activities and PVP drops frames and stutters so much that it's impossible to play! dxdiag is useless it's literally just something on Steam.

        • https://pastebin.com/wFv8xBLf Dxdiag Games been running like -blam!- since the final update dropped and the frame rate no matter the activity has been very choppy, 1% lows have been abysmal with drops and framerate can just drop to 90 and below with the 1% low dropping to 30s and below

        • I loaded a checkpoint to Shuro Chi in Last Wish for catalyst farming and it happens usually when the second wave of thralls spawn. It also happened last night while I was doing the Distortion event in the Cosmodrome, and in various other places. It doesn't seem to have any gameplay triggers that I can cause or use to ease it. • So somehow the stuttering and framerate issues have managed to impact my game/PC after it was initially called out. From June 9th up until, like, July 1/2 everything was fine, and then starting July 1/2 everything went south. I haven't done anything different. I didn't download any new Windows or Nvidia drivers. I actually even play D2 capped at 120 FPS. But then I logged in recently and the stuttering and framerate drops started happening. I'm seeing social media comments saying only AMD "X3D" processors are the ones affected, but I've got an Intel processor, so I don't think that tracks (although I have a new rig coming in soon with a X3D chip, so I'll monitor it). This is killing my motivation to play in all honesty, and all I wanna do is play D2. I will list my PC specs below, and at a later point I will edit and upload my DxDiag (I am on my phone writing this). –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– PC Specs • Windows 10 Home 22H2 • i7-7700 • GTX 1070 • 16GB Ram

        • DxDiag https://pastebin.com/8EqSUtm3 For me, it is only really noticeable in Public Event areas, e.g., last night doing Public Events on the Moon, when it was a distorted event, the Fallen Walker one was pretty bad. I usually cap my FPS at 120, but I was getting >40 FPS then. PC Specs CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x GPU: RX 7700xt RAM: 32 GB Corsair (4 x 8GB) MoBo: MSI MAG WIFI B550 OS: Win 11 Home 64-bit

        • CPU: 13600k GPU: 4070ti RAM: 32gb DDR5 6000MHz XMP enabled Storage: 2tb NVMe SSD Platforms Tested: Steam, Epic, Xbox Seems that in the recent update Steam performance has been made worse. But something that has always persisted for me is a micro stutter that is present in every aspect of the game related to poor 1% lows. This micro stutter has been present since I reinstalled the game around the launch of Renegades after not having played since Shadowkeep, somewhere along the line this stutter was introduced. It almost seems as if something in the game engine just stops for a second almost like clock work. No other game has this issue, even on the start menu of the game I'll have 240 fps and 238 1 %lows then it will drop to anywhere from 96 to 38 on the 1% lows for a split second then recover. This exact pattern exists in every part of the game, FPS and 1% lows will be good then randomly drop from consistent down then back up. Latencymon shows long interrupt times for graphics drivers and Frameview shows single frame times shooting up to 20ms sometimes compared to the average 3.5ms for every other frame. Again i cannot stress this enough this is a D2 only problem and occurs even if I'm starting a new character and in the initial start area of the game with almost no game entities loaded. I play a ton of other similarly performing games. No other game has this micro stutter. I should mention I have reinstalled windows, drivers, and re-flashed bios and turned on and off every setting i could find, nothing changes for d2. The stutter appears to be engine level or some software interaction between d2 and windows because its present on both intel and AMD CPUs and Nvidia and Radeon GPUs, this is purely anecdotal but after reading a lot of posts on this micro stutter which many attribute to being related to the release of Edge of Fate, it seems like it has a high correlation to modern hardware specifically CPUs that utilize DDR5 Ram, not all systems like this, but the ones that have the micro stutter follow this pattern. Could be unrelated but I've noticed a lot of correlation with that through forums and reddit posts.

As shown in the videos above, I was exploring Nessus but stutters happen on every planet and are a lot worse in crucible 4. It's worse during Distortions and Crucible 5. Same settings since pre-EoF, nothing has been changed (besides turning on/off NVIDIA V-Sync in NVCP and turning on/off NVIDIA Reflex in-game) for testing purposes. This happens on every character, artifact mods, armor mods etc... does not have an effect on performance. 6. Nothing, stutters were very minor/not present before removal of Exclusive Fullscreen. Stuttering after launch of EoF and became worse after recent patch.

        • You know guys, I'm really disappointed. I was hyped to play Destiny, got it on Steam. I've tried to ignore the performance issues, plow through it and play Legacy Campaigns anyway as a new player... But it's just pointless, the stuttering is completely ruining the experience. It's unplayable in current state for me.

https://pastebin.com/CyZb6qZA https://youtu.be/vUl_VsUSc54 The issues that began with the EOF update started with problems like disappearing weapons and the inability to use skills, and are now persisting—even in orbit—with momentary FPS drops. Movement feels sluggish, as if I were swimming in jelly, and on top of that, I keep getting network errors. Forcing the game into full-screen mode via the CVARS file used to partially fix the game's fluidity—at least until the last week or two. Deleting everything on the computer and downloading it all over again doesn't work. As you can see in the video, GPU and CPU usage is extremely low. Whether the video settings are set to the highest or lowest level makes no difference at all. The game has a 1-2 second lag; in SOLO Caldera, when I try to go through the portal on the bus, it acts as if it hasn't opened, forcing me to turn back and try entering again. Congested environments cause further game lag, resulting in weapon damage failing to register. I don't have any programs on my system other than Battle.net and Steam. In no other game did I experience internet issues, lag, or any signs of a faulty system component. When I monitored the processor usage—which spiked up to 130%—while watching my own video, the HwInfo64 program revealed that the load was concentrated specifically on P-core 4. When I tried setting the render level to 200 to push the graphics card even further, there was no change at all. When I tried a different approach and lowered the Maximum Power Level to 50% via the Nvidia application, there was a noticeable improvement in fluidity; however, the FPS values remained stable even when it was reduced to 30%. Sudden FPS drops are still occurring, dropping as low as 25. It appears to be a single-core optimization issue, regardless of whether the processor is something like the 13700K (or better) or an AMD equivalent.

          • 1. Don't have a way to record that wouldn't just add noise to the problem 2. https://pastebin.com/8yLcNck0 3. Crucible primarily, it's been egregious. Didn't have this issue before, and of course it had to come up during iron banner week. I've had frame drops during Pantheon and Arena Ops but some of that is just making concessions for my hardware. The micro stutters are not part of the acceptable performance drops. 4. Happens on every crucible map but also in everything else, crucible just seems to be the worst of it. 5. Playing the game. 6. Unresolved.
