image shows frametime issues: https://imgur.com/a/cUSxarf dxdiag: https://pastebin.com/Ngf63gyh Just happens almost everywhere, in orbit, during any activities etc regardless of what/where. I don't really have fps issues but the frametime stutters that happens constantly is frustrating, I can just sit in orbit and it'll stutter. I've tried lowering settings, capping frames to even 30 fps, turned reflex/g-sync off, reinstalled and nothing helps. Only game this happens in.

1. no recording 2: https://pastebin.com/0TchYHgQ 3. play a lot of PVE and its very bad in activities with a density of enemies but also with lots of ability spam and orbs around the place. so things like GMs, dungeons, moon events all eat my frames I play on steam and its been worse since the update on 24/6/26 but also been bad in a lesser sense since exclusive fullscreen was removed:(

Unfortunately I'm unable to capture footage of the issue at the moment, but I'm happy to help! https://pastebin.com/T4nuy5ZV My usual range for gameplay was around 230 FPS in moment to moment gameplay, with small dips during large encounters or rapid visual effects. Now I'm ranging anywhere from 110 FPS to 150 FPS in high stress scenarios. I noticed this the most during raid encounters like Atraks-1, Fallen Exo where my framerate was so inconsistent and dipped below 110 FPS for the first time since I started playing on PC. This problem also persisted throughout non-RAD content, and even patrol spaces started to have issues keeping above 150 FPS. I've noticed the game struggle to float at my refresh rate of 165 hz whereas before it had no issue being stable at above 230 FPS. I have also noticed stuttering during high impact moments of gameplay. Mid combat my game will stutter when I look around. Also, my game quite literally pauses for half a second when an exotic catalyst drops as floor loot. I'm unsure if this relates to the same issue, but I feel that it's important to note here. I am using the steam client and have tried to fix this issue by disabling background apps, syncs, overlays, and processes that might be contributing to it. Monitoring the issue, the game usually runs at 70% of my RTX 5080's load. Nothing has changed there, and same goes for my CPU. I have tried updating my graphics driver and making sure all of my hardware is up to date to no effect. This issue majorly began with the Monument of Triumph update, but has gotten significantly more noticeable since last Tuesday's update. I hope this information helps get the framerate issue resolved as I really loved how D2 ran so smoothly on my PC before. I'd love for it to run the same again. I hope that y'all can find a fix for this soon. Thank you so much for all your hard work there at Bungie, and wishing y'all the best <3

Edited by Eden: 6/27/2026 7:30:10 PMDXDiag: https://pastebin.com/qrqCbxE0 I noticed this immediately when hopping on to do Pantheon when it released. Was getting 130-140 FPS in Argos until we started the encounter where it would then drop to around 90-100 FPS with lows of around 50 FPS. Was most noticeable during Consecrated Mind on Friday since that encounter has generally low enemy density and I was still getting drops into the 60s and 70s. I've also been getting big FPS drops when entering menus. I haven't noticed any gear lessening or exacerbating this issue outside of builds that generally make performance worse because of AoE and VFX spam. I also don't think the activity I'm playing really makes much of a difference outside of how it'd affect FPS before the update (i.e. lower FPS in newer areas/Sorrow's Harbor/activities with high enemy density etc.) To clarify, I'm not getting any stuttering or freezing, just consistently lower FPS and worse drops than usual. I am using the Steam Client. I've tried clearing the shader cache, updating my graphics drivers, verifying the integrity of the game files, and deleting my cvars file. None have really made a noticeable difference regarding this issue.

1. Video showing performance on Steam with Steam performance overlay. https://youtu.be/_q98C5vPIUc. Link to video showing performance using same exact build, settings, but playing the Xbox/Msoft store version. https://youtu.be/Bw6n3lJEEa4 2. DxDiag https://pastebin.com/Z1dWEQWb For me, I noticed worse frame rate and stuttering in all content, worse when more people are playing in the same instance. Changing settings did not fix anything, the version from the Xbox app/Microsoft store plays without issue. In the steam clip above the frame rate average is almost half and multiple red stutter can be seen in the graph. Playing the game through the Xbox windows version on PC has zero issues, not low spikes can be seen in the performance graph and the frame rate is much higher. Playing with the same computer and video settings, minutes apart from eachother.

Edited by The Cooler Coolmannico: 6/28/2026 6:24:31 AM1. https://youtu.be/SqMpJ_wjsx0 - Steam version. 4k. 73fps avg. I don't think the stuttering and jitters come across in video as apparently as it comes across in real time, but it feels really bad to play. Constant jitters, constant frame drops, constant stutters. I don't consider the game worth playing in this state. (forgive the gameplay, my eyes were mostly locked to the performance tool) https://youtu.be/cgJSq2Ab3Ms - Epic version. 4k. 104fps avg There's still some frame drops, but that's just the limit of my system I think. Without the tool I wouldn't have even noticed. Not stuttery at all, no jitters, runs at a much higher avg fps, just feels smooth. 2. https://pastebin.com/s1yDHsYd 3. The problem persists to some extent in every piece of content in the game. GMs, patrol events, orbit, arena ops, tower (though the tower is just light micro stuttering). Everything is impacted. 4. Altar of Sorrows (but the moon in general), and terminal overload on Neomuna were particularly terrible from what I've tried, significant frame drops and stuttering. But really, it just gets bad in any activity whenever there are heavy amounts of effects or enemies on the screen. 5. I know you said it's not as helpful, but I have not really found any particular method of reproduction short of "just playing the game". It's present from the moment I launch the game, and setting changes/armor/mods/weapons make little to no difference. 6. There's been some suggested fixes on reddit, none worked for me. The only true fix has been to install D2 on Epic Launcher. My stutter and frame drop problems are non-existant there. For me personally, this is strictly a steam related issue, and has only been an issue since the last hotfix, it's been smooth for years beforehand. I appreciate you guys still helping even despite the circumstances.

1. https://youtu.be/0p-1Kce0OOY 2. https://pastebin.com/fhWm7uA3 3. I play mostly raid content with some PvP content. The raid that I immediately experienced the issue post-update was 'Pantheon: Calus Resplendent', specifically the Argos encounter. I haven't tested my performance on the other encounters. Before the recent update, my FPS was consistently around 110-140 at resource intensive parts of the raid with 25+ enemies. Now, in those same sections, my FPS drops to around 40-60. I am also experiencing extreme input latency, specifically for my aim. When I open my menu, the stutters increase and my FPS dramatically drops to around 40-60. For PvP, I experienced this on all the maps in the weekly rotation of Trials this week. My frames don't drop as drastically here, but I still feel the heavy input delay on my aim. It feels like heavy aim. It severely hinders my reaction time and accuracy. 4. I haven't tested whether it is worse on specific encounters other than Argos. The only other encounter I can reference is Phry'zhia on Grasp of Avarice. I also experienced it here but to a lesser degree. 5. I run the game with all the lowest video settings on 1080p. There isn't any specific information I have here other than simply loading into the Argos encounter (for the extreme FPS drops). My FPS has been noticeably lower on any activity, but not as extreme as the more resource intensive encounters. Also, I experience it in the tower, with my FPS ranging between 80-100. The input delay persists in all activities. 6. I installed all newest updates for my Windows and drivers. V-sync is disabled and I'm running 'Prefer Maximum Performance' mode in my power settings. My texture filtering quality is at 'High Performance' in NVIDIA settings. None of this fixed the issue to any degree. The performance is consistently 40-60 on Argos despite any changes so far.

Edited by HAYDEN53: 6/27/2026 7:07:48 PMI've Noticed stutter and frame drops in RoN against Nezarec during dps. I was playing Celestial Goldy with Still Hunt and Hezen Vengeance,we also had a Div+Well,We also had a crackshot hunter with 1K voices and I believe the rest was truth. Sadly no footage of that and only happened in a 6 player squad it was fine when we did a couple of runs with only a 3 squad. I do have Footage of the Seraph Shield Elevator and that one has been a bigger problem. I usually Play with Uncapped FPS and that elevator has killed me 99% of the time. Even at 80 FPS,at 45 FPS it has only happened once and I haven't been able to reproduce it. After I died at 45 FPS I always lower my FPS to 30 and it has never killed me at 30. I don't believe it's a gear related issue, it also happened on my Hunter. Edited by Arctus: 6/27/2026 4:40:55 PMHi, https://youtu.be/iMZ_mmSK8hU https://pastebin.com/muYaVfAk The chart in the top-left corner shows significant drops in the 1% lows. Frame rate capped at 120. Playing PVE only. The Moon location is one of the most problematic, but stuttering is noticeable practically everywhere - even on the title screen or at the Tower. The problem appeared right after tuesday's update. I tried various graphics settings, windowed and full-screen modes, and toggling FreeSync and V-Sync on and off. No results. Edit 1. Yup, I'm using Steam.

Here's a quick video of a variety of quickplay activities: https://youtu.be/18k-DRa0oTY Here's a pastebin link of my Dx Diagnostic: https://pastebin.com/8hQYEqmk I notice it worse in situations that would usually cause low framerate (many enemies on screen, many particle effects at once) but the frame drops and stuttering are noticeable at all times, from crucible, to raids, to onslaught, even in my menus. It's worse when there's more happening on screen, regardless of map, enemy type, or Pvp/Pve My settings have remained unchanged since I upgraded graphics cards in early 2024. I have had great performance and easy 150+ frames in all activities for the past 2 1/2 years untill the update that was released last tuesday Nothing yet has resolved the issue for quick reference: Windows 11 Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900K DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6400MHz NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 1080P 100Hz monitor Frames have been steady at 150+ uncapped for multiple years of gameplay until this patch. Frames now average ~100 with dips as low as 30, even in menus
-
The effecte started after update on tuesday. Was locked 240 with 220 1% low for 4 years straight. Im now dropping to 130 from 240 causing stutters and its especially bad in 6v6. The overall experience makes it feel like a jittery mess. This is on steam. Feels like gsync isnt on but it is. Upon trying d2 on the xbox windows app it is smooth as silk like pre tuesday update on steam. Good frame timings though i do still see some drops

Edited by Neil_z: 6/27/2026 7:39:20 PMI'll try to upload a link to a video later but have tested on all 3 platforms (Steam/Windows/Epic) as have access to all three. I'm seeing significant frame drops even in the director when in orbit - 120fps drops down to 60fps just navigating between the menus, not just in gameplay - I have had framerates/stuttering in Terminal Overload activity and Nightmare containment. Also got extreme muzzle flash on Vikala SMG4 during Nightmare activity when frame rates/stuttering dropped and was transcendent (Titan Peacekeepers Prismatic build) during intense parts of this activity. I'm UK based if that helps, we are on 1GB Fibre to premise and no networking issues from that perspective, seems to have surfaced since last patch.

This is unacceptable, they need to patch it

Windows 11 Intel i5-13600k DDR5 32GB 4800 MHz NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 3440x144 0 165Hz Monitor Frames capped at 165, Didnt watch fps religiously before but the game always ran smoothly probably between 120-140 fps. Ultra everything in settings as seen from the screenshots. After tuesdays patch I am dipping down into the low 40's, high 30s at times. 6 man fireteam activities is where its really prevalent, consecrated mind 5 feat was awful, arena ops are horrible. Basically anywhere in the game im noticing a "good" dip is into the 70's and 80s, when its really bad its down into the 40s and 30s like i said. Something got messed up for sure tuesday, this didnt start until then.
-
https://pastebin.com/CeyUidkX Mainly happens in the Moon, everywhere in the Moon, but in other places too. Doesn't matter what I do and what Settings I use, in the Moon it just drops from +110 to 80 with dips to 60 or lower. Happened with both an Arc and Void build, with totally different Sets, same Performance issues with enemies and without.
-
I typically get well over 100 FPS at all times, but after tuesday, during Public Events and Distortion events, I get drops down below 80fps. Changing video settings did not help this issue whatsoever. https://pastebin.com/2StkHQfi

Edited by ayla: 6/27/2026 8:33:07 PM1. Examples https://streamable.com/ebv7qm - example 1 https://streamable.com/xqots2 - example 2 2. DxDiag https://pastebin.com/cuPNZAx9 3. Today I have experienced intense frame drops (as low as 7fps) and my fps basically cut in half from before 9.7.0.2 rolled out. I had stutters, freezes and slow motion effects when playing Pantheon encounters (Warpriest, Consecrated mind, Morgeth), Arena Ops (Astral Alignment) , Root of Nightmares full raid and Tower. I am playing the game on Steam. 4. I believe it's everywhere, but more frame drops happen when there are multiple players together, using abilities, swapping to a sword, being near enemies. 5. Look at example 2, loadout swap causes an intense amount of lag for the client, with or without allies nearby. Also, just about any ability on hunter causes the client side frame drops as well. 6. I have tried deleting my cache, disabling steam input, deleting cvars, nothing seems to have worked.

Video: https://streamable.com/w0otcd DXdump: https://pastebin.com/SiYCGW1z Stutter seems to happen regardless of current activity/destination. Poor frame pacing in general with frequent major dips that are especially prevelent with high action scenes. G-sync is turned on, and turning off windowed optimizations through windows did help somewhat. Neither CPU or GPU are experiencing a major bottleneck, and plenty of RAM/VRAM is available for the game. I believe this might be in part related to the borderless fullscreen patch for edge of fate, the built in window manager for borderless is known to cause issues with certain games/game engines. an exclusive fullscreen option would be nice for the sake of troubleshooting, but that is likely easier said than done. I hope something i provided here helped, and I greatly appreciate all the work your team has put in to give us awesome memories for the last 12 years.

1. I do not have a clip to share at the moment but can update this if i do get footage of it 2. https://pastebin.com/vfACfA2f 3. I've seen these drops in anything with 6+players in it, especially if anyone is applying the unravel debuff a lot. It is also very noticeably bad performance on distorted destinations, neomuna, and vespers host off the top of my head. 4/5. I have not been able to fix it yet, on distorted destinations i can just be playing the game normally, and will experience noticeable frame drops on any current distorted destination, usually around 40 fps, sometimes even less. The unravel debuff has consistently caused it for me, especially if im using other debuffs in conjunction with unravel, but for the most part, those individual debuffs do not seem to cause much of a performance drop for me. The performance also is much worse in the tower as of the monument of triumph update for me, often sitting around 40 fps as well. Changing the settings of the game does not seem to help. 6. The only workaround I have had work for me is making use of Lossless Scaling, the 3rd party software app on steam. I have fiddled around with the settings to experience very minimal input delay and get very smooth framerates in return, but since it is 3rd party software, I am hesitant on using it since 3rd party apps seem to be against the terms of service, but I do not know if something that isn't modifying the game files at all would still be restricted, would appreciate some clarification on this as well in Destiny 2's case since I couldn't find a straight answer online.

Here are the frametimes in PVP - https://imgur.com/a/qCTyb8c Its real stuttery and near unplayable and my DXDIAG - https://pastebin.com/Br2AMJtE Haven't changed any settings since the Tuesday update. Seems to be worse in PVP with more people in a match.

https://medal.tv/games/destiny-2/clips/n0fIh2ZGJr8QkF6kRhttps://medal.tv/games/destiny-2/clips/n0fIh2ZGJr8QkF6kR Lots of small stutters within a short 15 second clip 2. https://pastebin.com/jb0irf8ahttps://pastebin.com/jb0irf8a 3/4. Following after reset on this past Tuesday, I originally noticed the constant stuttering issues on every map in the Control crucible playlist. It got to the point of being difficult to play, so I attempted to play all other versions of crucible. SRL is the only crucible playlist that does not seem to present a stuttering issue. I have tried all of the Vanguard OPs options and while the problem is a lot rarer for me to see and not nearly as constant as it is in crucible, but it does indeed exist. I understand that me saying "its everywhere" does not help nail it down and I apologize; however, I am genuinely experiencing this issue throughout the game. In Control, my 1% lows are as bad as 73fps when my avg fps is usually around 200-240 in the same mode. 5. I have no reproduction steps. Unfortunately, I simply logged in after the 9.7.0.2 update and was met with the performance issues. Nothing on my system changed between the morning of the update and a few hours after the update aside from updating the game. 6. I have been unable to resolve or mitigate the problem.

DXDiag https://pastebin.com/Lz7KNkLG I made a video but there wasnt much to show outside of performance dipping hard especially on the moon during events like alter of sorrow. Wasnt a thing until this weeks update. Used to be 70 fps plus but averaging out around 60 now- also getting really bad dips to 35 and 45 fps. This is happening on multple characters so im unsure what the root cause is- im hearing that this is only an issue on the steam version of the game.

Edited by Emreek: 6/28/2026 1:24:37 AMI ran a quick experiment to test out if there is a performance issue or a memory leak. This is what I found. 1-My frames are uncapped. In orbit I get 278+ FPS 2-I experience drops all the way to 20 fps. These drop occur in ARENA, Battlegrounds and Excision (which gives me guitar error all the time). 3-By Capping the frames to 180 FPS, same as my monitor I get drops all the way to 40 FPS. These drops occur in the Crucible (6v6) and Strikes. 4-Capping the frames to 60 FPS I get 40 to 30 FPS no matter the activity. Which makes no sense because the frames are already low. EDIT: Can you also turn off Crossplay? It's horrible because it brings too much latency between the systems. Pastebin Info https://pastebin.com/C72ZmJ13

https://pastebin.com/f93PUjYH DxDiag Dump ^ GPU usage and FPS has been significantly lower during gameplay anywhere in the game at all times. This specifically started whenever you guys decided to remove the exclusive full screen display option from the game. When exclusive full screen was an option in the game previously, I ran 220-240fps consistently without frame drops, spikes etc. GPU usage was always high (90-100% usage as it should be) so I would always be pushing high framerate. Input lag was always minimal. The game was running almost flawlessly. Even in high action content and areas FPS rarely dropped. When exclusive full screen was removed, not sure when but I noticed after I came back to the game when renegades and edge of fate was on sale. I now get maybe maximum 60% GPU usage. Frames sit around 120-130 in the tower with 50% GPU usage. Once in an activity and enemies come in and action ramps up my GPU usage drops lower and frames drop to 70-80 thus massively increasing input delay and worsening the experience. As far as I understand this shouldn't be happening on an R9 7950X3D and RTX 4080 at 1440p. Just to re-iterate when exclusive full screen was an option the game ran almost flawlessly and that was on the exact same specs. I'm really hoping this performance issue plaguing myself and many others is fixed before the updates to this game stop entirely.. :(
