Framerate issues on PC since Tuesday update
Getting massive fluctuating framerate the last 2 days and been troubleshooting all day, no combination of gsync/vsync/frame limiter or graphics settings either in game or in Nvidia control panel is evening out my framerate. Even with the settings on everything Low i have the same frame rate as on Highest and its just constantly fluctuating which is very telling.
Fresh drivers, rolled back drivers.
Every other game I've played recently is running as it was before and as expected.
100% some sort of issue with some configurations after Tuesday's patch considering I've played this game on this exact pc setup for 4 years and nothing else on my system has changed.
Also seeing a good number of other people with this issue.

If it helps try turning off anti aliasing. I turned it off and the stuttering/fps drops cleared up for me.

We didn’t even get a twab this week, I wouldn’t hold my breath on a fix. Could have been added by devs as an FU to Bungie, or someone trying to get a few more weeks of job security, “ can’t let me go there’s a frame rate bug I need to fix first”. I worked at a foundry that got shut down so the company could save money on labour costs by moving to Brazil. Let’s just say we didn’t go quietly, when they tried to put the equipment back together in Brazil they discovered they were missing some vital and very expensive parts :)

Did some tests, its the steam version. The windows version is fine

I did some testing and in my case it's the cpu performance that dropped substantially after the update. I'm on a 5700x3d and 5070 ti. For example,on Kepler central spawn I was always capped at a stable 144fps with v-sync (so could have been higher but i wouldn't know now), while now I'm down to 100 fps average with many frequent dips even to 60 fps and terrible 1% that makes the game feel stuttery, which is even worse than the lower average framerate. Lowering graphic settings and resolution doesn't change the fps at all so it's all a cpu problem for me.

Yeah this is egregious, went from steady 180 to never going above 120 and having drops as low as 70 when theres abilities on the screen (which is the entire game). Just had to happen right before they said no more bug fixes or patches will be possible

It's the same for me. Unfortunately, it's barely playable. I hope they fix it soon?!

Game is unplayable now. This killed Destiny for me even tho we got last update and there was massive layoffs. This was layoff for remaining pc players. -
If this is the permanent state of the game going forward, that would be so sad. The game has run flawlessly 120fps for me across two PCs since launch day, until this last patch. The moon distortion event was almost unplayable due to the stuttering and wildly inconsistent fps. I9 12900k / 3080ti / 32gb DDR5. Drivers are all up to date.

Here's to hoping they already know about this, genuinely couldn't even do a Distortion event because of how bad the dips were for me.

Yes. 240 locked before update. Since tuesday update pvp is a stuttering mess and pve has seen a massive decrease in performance
