Since the recent 9.7..2 update, I’ve noticed my average FPS has dropped compared to before. I can’t provide exact numbers, but in the Dream City, where I first spotted the issue, I’m now getting around 140–150 FPS instead of the 200+ I had the previous update. PvP matches also feel choppy due to the lower FPS. I’ve seen others mention similar problems on Reddit, I hope this can be addressed before the game is left in maintenance mode.
Here's the reddit post I was talking about : https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/1ueo7c4/is_anyone_else_having_performance_issues_since/

Last week it presented as “input lag” melee was severely lagged by 10ms or so This week it’s effecting the fps but the input lag is gone. Hopefully they have the time to fix it

I've been experiencing a lot of choppiness since 9.7.0.2 went live on Tuesday. Doing public events feels like a slideshow and before Tuesday the game felt silky smooth. I play on 1080p with a 9060XT and haven't experienced this much hitching and choppiness in a long, long time. Like Edge of Fate release.

Same. My experience comes from only PvP side of the game tho. Control was unplayable for me yesterday because of lag and all this going on. Was not running smooth. I am persistent player and mostly dont give up games, but yesterday was so bad that I had to leave couple games and then I just gave up and stopped playing, logged off. -
Getting the same issue the last 2 days and been troubleshooting all day, no combination of gsync/vsync/frame limiter or graphics settings either in game or in Nvidia control panel is evening out my framerate. Fresh drivers, rolled back drivers. Even with the settings on everything Low i have the same frame rate as on Highest and its just constantly fluctuating. 100% some sort of issue with some configurations after Tuesday's patch.

I get 200+ FPS constantly 1440. Since the update the frame pacing has made pvp unplayable, im seeing 130 back to 200 its super choppy. Pve isnt AS bad but in places where ive been 190-240 such as dreaming city- its going from 140-240-130-200. I havent seen these low frames in literally 3 years so something is definitely broken with the latest patch. Other clan members seeing it also, pvp is unplayable its so choppy

3 RepliesIt’s been like this for years man, they haven’t done a genuine optimization patch for Pc since like Forsaken I think. The games been getting bloated slowly overtime, especially now, it’s really bad.

Yeah, my FPS has taken a huge hit. Also, I now have issues with my controller while playing D2, but other games are fine. (Using a Gamesir G7 Pro.)
