First off, I want to say the Lightguard set is one of my favorite armor sets Bungie has released. The summer/beach aesthetic is something we don't get very often in Destiny, especially one that actually looks as good as this, and it stands out from the usual armored Hunter look. My only feedback is regarding the Hunter arms. The large shoulder pauldron feels out of place compared to the rest of the set's lightweight lifeguard theme. The chest, legs, sandals, and overall silhouette all lean into a relaxed athletic look, but the single armored shoulder piece makes the set feel less cohesive. I'd love to see one of the following: An ornament variant of the Lightguard Hunter arms that removes the shoulder pauldron. A toggle option similar to how some armor pieces have alternate appearances. A future ornament that keeps the same arm design but uses a sleeveless or symmetrical look. I mocked up a quick edit showing the arms without the pauldron. ( https://ibb.co/xSqyvLkK ) and in my opinion it better matches the overall beach/lifeguard aesthetic of the set. One thing that also stood out to me is that Warlocks are already able to achieve a fully sleeveless summer look with the Lightguard set due to how their armor is structured. Seeing that made me wish Hunters had a similar option available through an alternate arm ornament, especially since the rest of the Hunter set already leans so heavily into the same casual beach aesthetic. What surprised me was how much removing that one piece changed the overall look of the armor. The set immediately felt more cohesive and leaned further into the relaxed summer theme that makes Lightguard unique in the first place. I also think a pauldron free option would have broader appeal than just this set. One of Destiny's biggest endgames is fashion, and having more low-profile arm options gives players more freedom when building casual, athletic, civilian, or beach themed looks. Hunters in particular don't have many arm pieces that fully commit to that style without adding a large armored element somewhere. Most importantly, this wouldn't take anything away from players who like the current version. The existing arms could remain exactly as they are, while players who prefer a cleaner silhouette would have an additional option to choose from. This wouldn't affect gameplay in any way, but it would give fashion focused players another option and make the set feel more consistent with its theme. I genuinely think Lightguard is one of the best themed sets Bungie has made in recent years, which is why I'd love to see it pushed just a little further.
