So the community has spoken, but did you get the message, that is the question?
Not a question answered by your faithful servant streamers, but by the consumers of your product. Including those who have been loyal to your games since Halo 1.
We’d rather have no stupid overly woke story line like you have been serving us the last years. But activities like in the last update, even if they are recycled.
No shelving of content, no mix and match with Star Wars (dudes seriously, we had a great storyline, no need to crossover)
In my 14 years as a customer, I think I got 1-2 emails around the early start of D1.
Blinded by arrogance, or is it laziness?
You guys must have a mailing list of a few million players, ever thought of a survey?
Anyway on the upside thanks for this update and the good games with friends we are having currently.
My advice if you did not get the message yet, put a survey out to your customers, they will appreciate it (or at least the effort) stop listening to your influencers.
Go back and rekindle the essence of DESTINY that’s what we want.

The term woke was a term used by black Americans to describe a person who understood the that the world made hidden moves to benefit the rich and powerful. It was caucisified. As for the LGBT stories, so what? They don't impact the game play. You snowflakes are just to sensitive.

1 ReplyThought I was getting a great deal recently, when purchasing EoF and Force Awakens II, for eighteen bucks. Complete waste of eighteen dollars and a reminder to never hire woke people. Not just the woke people, but the even worse virtue signaling woke scammers that feed off other awful woke narratives.

Edited by THA_3rd_GUY: 6/22/2026 3:12:52 PMAre you serious? Fam, the woke storylines have nothing to do with the state we're in now. Destiny 2's poor first year. The over reliance on Eververse. The DCV. The Portal. Toxic work environment behind the scenes. These are what caused Destiny's downfall. Not Osiris and Saint randomly wanting to bang.

You speak for nobody but yourself. Stop putting "we".

Get off Fox "news". Its bad for your health.

Cringe.

Sony would be the one needing the message. Also they did surveys several times a year. If you never got one, you're either unlucky or not receiving the emails. But no, they didn't get any message, because no message was ever going to get through.
-
It wasn't that Bungie didn't get the "message" that was their mandate to develop "messages" over developing a video game.

5 RepliesSony made the decision to close Live Service and put Destiny 2 into maintenance mode, not Bungie, there’s articles on that on several gaming news websites if I’m not mistaken if you need more information. The community is just as much at fault as Bungie. Sony pulled the plug because player count was low and they probably thought, with supporting statistics, that the game was going to cost more than it made. PvP sweats and PvE no-life’s complained it into a grave just like everyone with a brain knew would happen, now everybody misses out on new content they had on the roadmap which could have been the turning point Destiny needed. Bungie was responsible for the game’s quality but so was the community, I wouldn’t want to listen to my community either if I seen some of the vile garbage on the here either, on a daily basis at that. At the end of the day, the franchise wasn’t perfect but it was great, but now it won’t get the chance to be greater because a disturbingly large portion the community wanted to be disturbingly toxic over every minor inconvenience. I said what I said, I’m certain my point will be proven soon enough.

You're talking to very simple people brother. The majority of people in these forums are not going to connect the dots of what you're saying. Most of what you get will be snide remarks from people who just want to be right about everything and not engage in intelligent conversation. It's always been that way if you haven't noticed. That's my PSA for the day.

Is it like when i sleep and i wake up, is it the woke you're talking about?
-
I haven’t played edge of fate or renegades, can you tell me what the “woke” is?

Edited by xbroggiex: 6/22/2026 12:46:51 PMUltimately this is Sony's decision and their decision has been abundantly clear they are about to shutter Bungie entirely.

NO, they did not get the message. They do not care what you or I or any player thinks. They can't comprehend why players are not happy with the story lines, or the loss of content, or the recycling of content or some of the other dumb stuff they have done. Obviously when you start laying employees off because of poor performance but you keep holding the line, you are not seeing what the players are seeing or doing. Putting that all aside. I liked the star wars cross over, especially the saber. Surveys do not work. I have filled out more than I can count and never once has a gaming company released the results of surveys or made changes based on the survey results that I can tell, because nothing changed after the surveys. I mean War Gaming sends them all the time; I do 3 or 4 a year and nothing there changes. Why bother sending surveys if you just ignore the responses?

Sony have made it abundently clear they are incapable of making good business decisions anymore. Sony may be ghosting those who spoke up, but, if reports are to be believed, XBox heard those players loud and clear and is working on a "Destiny inspired" live service property. Guess we'll see if there is any truth to that in 6 or 7 years when thebfirst trailer does (or does not) drop.

Bungie robbed their customers and gutted their brand. They're not interested in receiving messages. Sony may have gotten the message, and it will justify their actions all the more. Bungie can't be trusted with Destiny. Maybe someday Sony will try to resurrect Destiny with another studio.
