Errors Weasel, Baboon, Centipede

Getting errors Weasel, Baboon, and Centipede every evening when the player count exceeds 100,000. Please look into your server stability and address these disconnect errors. I've followed your network troubleshooting guide, configured NAT properly, and UPnP was already enabled — this issue is exclusive to your game.

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. All of these errors are indicative of network issues. These can be caused by problems affecting your specific network hardware, packet loss, or greater issues affecting your ISP which are being passed on to you. Further, all of this is possible even if your connection seems fine at a glance. To that point, we recommend double checking our Network Troubleshooting Guide to explore any potential solutions you haven't already tried. If that doesn't help, the next step would be checking our Optimizing Connections page. Following that, if issues still persist, we would recommend reaching out to your ISP for more hands-on assistance in troubleshooting your network setup.

  • I have a suspicion about what might be causing this, based on how your networking code works. The errors start occurring right after my ISP restarts their equipment or reassigns my dynamic IP address — so that could potentially be a factor.

Also getting ELDERBERRY, IGUANA, and CURRANT. Sometimes I load into a location, see other players, but get disconnected after just a few seconds. Other times I load in and get kicked out almost immediately with one of these errors — they seem to appear at random, no consistent pattern. I've run ping tests to multiple destinations with no packet loss, even with 1MB packets. Traceroute also looks clean — I've checked paths to various servers in Europe and the US with no issues.
