I played Destiny 2 a looooong time ago via Xbox. I recently picked up the Collection on Steam which includes all the DLC, as my friends and I wanted to jump back in while the game was on a good discount. I wanted to link my xbox and steam accounts via Cross Save, in order to ensure if I had any unique items or non-obtainable cosmetics that those came with me. When linking via the cross-save mechanic, I am not sure what all actually comes with me to the Steam platform. Additionally, designating xbox as my Active Account, which is where my old characters are, says I wont have access to the DLC I just purchased on steam. Is it intended that in order to use the DLC on steam, I have to leave behind all my xbox unlocks and make entirely new characters? Whats the point of Cross Save then?

So, short list -Collection unlocks -Characters + Inventory -Vault -Progression -Dungeon keys, Season Passes, and Reward Passes
Additionally, designating xbox as my Active Account, which is where my old characters are, says I wont have access to the DLC I just purchased on steam.
As long as they're purchased on the linked Steam, the characters will have access to the content.
