[spoiler]The Winnower talking to us is like, a full on tease. “Take a breather. Enjoy your libations. Get hungry.” They want us to want D3, to NEED it, before they release it. They need to know people will want it before they release it. I can almost guarantee that they’re gonna come out with an announcement later this year.

Yeah it could continue in Marathon to be honest they could always do something similar to Assassin's Creed crossover events where Marathon has a crossover event into Destiny 2. I would say in terms of continuing the destiny franchise it's very unclear at this point. Bungee already made it clear that they want to focus on future titles which means new IPS like Marathon. I feel like if Destiny 3 becomes something that they feel like makes sense they might do it, but I don't think it's going to be for like PlayStation 6; I think it might be for PlayStation 7 I don't think we're going to see anything like Destiny 3 related until maybe 2040 or 2035.

D3 a PS6 exclusive 🫠

5 RepliesAll they've done is put in the work they already did and left the door open for a potential continuation. Stop reading into things and claiming things are "definitely coming" because you want to cope that hard about a franchise that was so poorly handled it had to be shut down after 10 years due to hemorrhaging money.

1 ReplyIt might just be more D2. I'd bet Sony has some numbers and some dates in mind before any decisions are made. So far so good. We'll see what player numbers are like in a month.

1 ReplyIt proves they have a plan and ideas where to take the story should they be given the chance to continue. As it is right now, D3 does not exist. So holding out copium for this idea is actually pointless and a waste of time. Let's be very clear here, they cannot just begin massive production on a game like Destiny 3 in secret. If it's going to happen for real, we will absolutely hear about it through various sources.

No it doesn't. It just leaves doors open if it is to continue.

2 RepliesWhich stage of grief is this?

Bungie needs a lot of restructuring if we are to see any more Destiny.

7 RepliesI view this update as the devs saying goodbye and having the “closure” of telling where they hoped things would go. Their message is independent of the Bungie management who have ran the company inefficiently. Activision has its issues but Bungie couldn’t keep up with Activision’s expectations and Bungie got their independence. They almost went under before Microsoft passed on buying Bungie then Sony overpaid and now here we are with how poorly Bungie management got their golden parachutes but it cost the company its biggest IP. I wish there was a D3 but lots of information points to Bungie going under and Sony will shelve another IP.

4 RepliesWho cares? Either way, it is years off. Let's talk about relevant stuff now. Like.... What is the best way to farm compact defender? Does it drop from dungeon?
-
3 RepliesI really don't think so. If anything happens they will probably just jumpstart D2 - or worse - start D3 in the existing D2 environment...
-
Deffo a lot of cope

3 RepliesThere’s no rush from me. I hope they take their time and solve some of the problems D2 has had. The main one for me is making too much stuff to maintain and improve. If there is a D3, I hope it’s more focussed on a core group of high quality, replayable activities. More killer, less filler.

Zavala could of said, this is it, we can all go are separate ways, or something like that, but he didn't, also if it was all recorded, months ago, knowing it was ending what's the the point giving charge to ikora, there's no point, Destiny would be a fresh start , a "New beginning".
-
I don't believe so. I think they added it originally to have a d3 but the plug was pulled.
-
3 RepliesYeah, a lot of the dialogue got my attention and in today's twab they went out of there way to say that this was the last "big" update. I feel like they will slip in small things here and there without telling us.
-
They were working on this as if the game was going to continue, and then it suddenly wasn't/isn't, and they just still put it in because it's really cool.

I really hope so, I’ve genuinely been so depressed after hearing the news that this is the last destiny content. I’ve been coping on every news article 😂
