This game should have been like this for 10 years.
Why did the game have to die for them to implement so many positive changes we've been begging for? Not to mention all the cosmetic grinding we can do now. Maybe people would have played more all along if they didn't hide all their old stuff from us in a "looter shooter". 😒🙄

2 RepliesSpeaking of 10 years and someone also brought this up to my attention and I remember this. Remember that Destiny 2 was supposed to have a 10-year plan of content we did not have that. Yes Destiny 2 was around for almost more than 10 years, but we rarely had enough content to be equivalent to 10 years worth of content. I feel like this goal would have been accomplished if when shadowkeep was released that they did and step away from the DLC model, which was remember the motto of you get a 3-month DLC and then every year you get a major expansion.. Luke Smith said back then that they wanted to step away from that concept because developers felt burned out which honestly I think it was Bs. After that moment they made too much excuses they said we were burned out they said we don't have enough developers they said employees were laid. Like seriously it's their company they should not be making excuses they should be held accountable to a higher standard and do what they need to do to manage their company!

I don’t think people understand just how much Bungie was trying to show good #s prior to getting bought. They pinched everything to prop up the value of the studio for the acquisition. Including claiming and or starting multiple incubation projects to make a more broad value/cashflow appeal. Essentially they spent money (not on Destiny) to make money from the buyout. We are now reaping what they sowed. Also, when you look at the current financial environment around gaming and the games that ARENT coming out it’s plain that D3 is just too big to risk and evaluate at this time. Destiny is 99% not done. They just aren’t announcing massive, expensive sequel until they can get a gauge of how to organize the studio better. I also doubt it will be a D3. They will likely follow up on the Destiny: Infinity idea. Cheaper and retains the dedicated base.

2 RepliesIt's not like people weren't SCREAMING for this and other basic stuff for YEARS! They didn't care. Well, the money men didn't, cos they had short-sighted greedy visions of the covid year lasting forever, their hubris making them believe they couldn't fail whilst the glazers and simps and whales carried on with their defence campaign and inflated their hubris. And in the interim we were drip-fed content and prices went up and staff were fired whilst they bought huger offices and classic cars. And people are gonna blame Sony, just like they blamed Activision lol

The sad truth is that Destiny had to die for this kind of update to come out. They just weren't interested in doing anything but drip-fed content to milk the franchise as long as possible. If the game wasn't being shut down, we'd have Shadow and Order instead with roughly 1/3 or less of what we got as "current content."

Agreed I logged in and was like why couldn't they did this years ago.. it wouldn't have died, but I definitely like the changes. The champ mods built into the weapons, saved load out with artifacts, ( huge) srl.. I will enjoy it as long as I can.

So much stuff to do it's overwhelming but I'm such a good way as we have all the time in the world to really dig in deep. Crazy that they should have done all this with renegades.

Plus the recent models just funnelled players into the current activities (the paid content) so they didn’t want to make destinations and ‘free’ playlists as attractive to play. This is how the game always should subs been but monetisation stopped it.

EXACTLY. There were so many delusional people trying to gaslight us into excepting Bungie's blatant exploitation for almost a decade, and they have been so clearly shown to be wrong. *THIS* was what Destiny should have been moving towards not the crippled mess EoF was. The difference is night and day.

I was thinking the same thing. The planets , the vendors, the inventory, the vault, the triumphs, just everything. This took longer and maybe that's what they needed was more time in between seasons. I personally could have waited longer for them to get it right.

People voted with their wallets, idiots in charge just missed that clue and failed to act the whole time. They never bothered to give the players a reason to come back. Bittersweet ending to the best game I've ever played.

Since they don't have to "underdeliver" any more with incompetent leadership breathing down their necks they can bundle it up with this update as a "hail mary" and really put some weight behind what the community is trying to do. I'm here for it and even created a new clan to help keep the ball rolling that's in it for the long haul.
