Check back in on the numbers in a week. Player engagement will drop off a cliff again. Good content has been few and far between recently. No-one asked for matterspark or morph. Bungie clearly thought the novelty of it would win players back, it didn’t. The best content came in D1 and at random intervals during d2. Forsaken, Witch Queen were some of the best content while other content like curse of Osiris was just terrible. Nerf after nerf of our favourite stuff so we would struggle against thralls after crucifying Crota killed the power fantasy. The game has so much potential but Bungie lost its creativity and just ended up leaning into overly convoluted mechanics to artificially increase player engagement time because we had to spend hours and hours trying to beat one raid.
