Hello Bungie Support / Mentors,
I am in a very difficult situation. My native Destiny 2 Cross-Save account is an Xbox account, but I play on Steam. Recently, a hacker gained unauthorized access to my Microsoft account.
Microsoft conducted an official investigation and confirmed the hacker breach. However, due to their strict security protocols regarding changed security info, they have permanently and irreversibly suspended my Microsoft/Xbox account. I can never log into that Xbox account again.
Right now, I can still access my characters on Steam via Cross-Save, but my account is completely frozen. I cannot unlink or change anything because I cannot authenticate the dead Xbox account.
Here is the official statement I received from Microsoft Support (translated from Dutch):
"Based on this investigation, we have confirmed that unauthorized access has occurred. During the investigation, we determined that the security information of your account has been changed... To prevent further misuse, we have permanently blocked the account. This action is irreversible... We advise you to create a new account."
I have proof of this official email. I am desperately looking for a way to save my characters or have the native link manually moved/fixed by a Bungie administrator, as this security breach was completely out of my control.

1 ReplyAs you have cross-save enabled, you will be able to use one of your other linked platform accounts in order to access your characters/gear etc. Bungie will not transfer the characters/gear etc to another platform account, or remove the existing link under any circumstances.
