Dear Devs
Please petition for D2 on PlayStation to drop the Ps Plus requirement and view it as a free to play like it is on Xbox, especially with the game getting put into legacy mode and not getting more updates

1 ReplyI would suggest just canceling the auto renew at this point. I axed mine a few months ago. Prices will just go up and they won’t learn until the ps6 flops. No Destiny no point anyways

Sony includes Destiny 2 content in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe tiers, though an active PlayStation Plus subscription is required for most online, matchmade, and multiplayer activities (such as Crucible, Raids, and Dungeons) across all versions of the game

10 RepliesIt requires ps+ because it is using Sony's servers. To make it free they would need to make servers for the PlayStation players, which is not where Bungie's money should be going.

3 RepliesEdited by Legion91123: 6/4/2026 2:25:02 PMThe fact of the matter is that Destiny is F2P on Xbox but not on Playstation which bought bungie makes no sense why it wouldn’t be F2P on say A PS5 An online game thats free to download should be free to play and free of subscriptions for online services For instance I’m not sure how many of you play Overwatch since it became F2P it made use of Battle.net to make and verify accounts Bungie is using something similar with the companion app Also the idea that cross progression through said bungie account also makes the fact that PS required online for most of D2 absolutely stupid whem you can transfer to another console just to play 100% free

6 RepliesI fully agree: paying to get full access to a game from a Sony company after I have already paid for it (I still have to insert disk to play) feels like they are double or triple dipping. That said, D2 is the reason I have PS+ and will eventually be the reason I stop buying PS+.

I truly hope the "layoffs" they are proposing are all the visionless slobs they call leadership over there at Sony. All the talent, as usual, lies with the people that actually make the game. As someone who used to fix electronics, I appreciate Sony for their tech. But "aye carumba", they don't know how to handle an IP or wield the power they actually have properly. Nobody that doesn't understand the material should keep their hands off it, but that's exactly why power makes you disconnected and inherently dumb.
