Since 2014 I've been a solo player, who likes to drop in and out of LFG posts from time to time. I found pride in being a collector with an absolutely stacked vault, full of pvp and pve meta armaments. Being able to Build craft with any spread of stats I want on my armor, and go in as an absolute beast on any activity I wanted, being a clutch for whatever team I found myself on. I floating in and out of various clans, made friends, and drifted away, onto the next adventure... I always prioritized life over the game, but it was always something I could come back to. I enjoyed engaging with any and all activities from the occasional patrol, especially those that happen to spin up at the start of a nightfall, to the day one raid experiences. Chasing down collectables to complete the grimoire card collections, and the lore book entries, never missing an event in the tower. Its been quite the experience over the last 12 years, and June 9th will be like a bittersweet reunion. Many people will be logging on to consume one last update, one that is looking to be the best one we've gotten in what feels like a long time. I'm thankful for the work everyone at bungie has put into the franchise over the years. We've lost and gained so many talented folks over the years, that have left incredible contributions both in and outside of this remarkable IP. Just think of all the good D2 has contributed to the real world through their various fundraising events over the years, its mind blowing... I for one applaud the legacy that is d2 and Destiny as a franchise, it truly is something special in the games industry and has left an indelible mark on a generation of devs and players alike. I think its very likely we will continue to see an outpouring of support for this IP, whether or not that is enough to warrant a new project being greenlit is something everyone will just need to be patient and hope for.
