What would changing it to a heat weapon do to functionally improve it?

This was covered at the beginning of December by Mercules. It'd likely need the gun to be near-completely rebuilt from the ground up. Fast forward to now, which given the current situation of the game, and them having to work on the other guns etc for the final update - the chance is near absolute 0 it'll be done for the it.
