After the announcement that Destiny 2’s final in-game service update will arrive on June 9th, I really hope Bungie considers fully unvaulting the game’s campaign content and allowing players to experience the complete story from beginning to end again. One of the saddest parts of Destiny 2 for newer and returning players is that huge portions of the narrative are no longer playable. The Red War, Forsaken, seasonal storylines, and other vaulted content are a massive part of the game’s history, and it would mean a lot to the community to preserve them. I would love the ability to create a new character with friends and replay the entire journey chronologically, from the original opening all the way through the final expansion, as a complete experience. With active development ending, this feels like the perfect opportunity to preserve Destiny 2’s legacy for the players who have spent years in this universe.
