Goodbye guardians.
Didn’t think it would end like this.
See you on June 9th, and hopefully a new development team will take on the title and the challenge of making Destiny 3.
I know this game was an emotional support tool for many people, so my heart goes out to you.

1 ReplyNice post guardian I’ll still be playing D2 and D1 there great to go back to while servers are active. Eyes up guardian , I’m day one 9/92014 and day one D2 went to the farm early when they opened it before D2 launched. Remember posts about gjallarhorn being acquired , Xylar the timeless posts , secret chest vault of glass etc etc great times. I’ve had some incredible times and fun’s in D1 and D2 , I miss red war campaign and forsaken etc. sad news indeed still don’t believe it but will still be on and play here and there and hopefully do some raids D2 if anyone wants to. Thanks for the post and to everyone in D2 for help or just fun and the forums too.

I won’t be back for June 9th. Why would I invest time into F…ing a corpse of a game. I’m. D1 vet and after all the years, all I’ve learned is that bungie treat their fan base and Community as trash. Destiny 3 would have brought back the community. Let Bungie struggle on life support for the next year or two before Sony close them down. Pete Parsons is driving off into the sunset in his Bugatti Veyron giving us all the middle finger in his rear view mirror. It’s been fun guys but it’s time to accept the rides over. I’m going to invest my time into other franchises. Never again shall I buy a game from Bungie given -blam!- they’ve -blam!- over their player base

3 RepliesThis June update will be their last attempt to grab as much money from the poor slops that still throw money at the same recycled crap. The June uodate will be half@ssed , there will be things ppl didn't ask for or want. The grind might increase to keep those who play and play even more. All these changes that they mentioned most of you have been asking for 10 years, lol. And they NOW want to deliver some so you guys can get excited for a dying game

7 RepliesI already commented both serious (ending with good vibes for the many entertaining years) and humorous (I'm thru with love...). And I am certainly not holding a grudge against anyone (maybe one or the other Hunter... 😉😍❤️). Destiny was the last reason to maintain my Playstation+ subscription which will end this July and which I have terminated a few minutes ago. Considering how much money I spent over years for DLCs, silver, yearly PS subscriptions, controllers, headsets etc I believe I will save a lot of money in the future. Thank you to Bungie and Sony for finally having helped me to cure my addiction. Thank you to all of you for many years of fun, anger, desperation and happiness! All the best! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

1 ReplyEdited by Franco-Nevada: 5/22/2026 10:05:39 PMD1 is still alive. D2 isn't going anywhere. Keep in mind I played since D1 and never even started doing end game content until about 2 years ago. There is already a ton of things to do here if you dig a little and we are about to get a whole lot more. There is also a steady stream of new players who come in on the regular. This will continue since they announced people will be able to buy all the extra content at a discount. I find it fun to make friends with these players and help them in content they aren't familiar with. It's like reliving those parts of the game all over again. Oftentimes we were going through it so fast that we missed a lot of details. Now I can just sit back and take it all in.

A dark boardroom… in the ascendant plane…. Bungie corp meeting: marathon numbers are not what we expected…numbers falling off…..dark echo in the corner whispers: if you make the guardians not want to play, then they will all leave and play marathon….Bungie Corp heads all glaze out and start murmuring to them selves….yeeessss excellent.. feel it…let it flow thru you whispers the dark shadow with multiple heads streaming out lol of the top of it in a smoke… one bungee exec says I never did like Seasonal activities or that stronghold…. Another one pipes up….and Kepris horn? what were we thinking this is why people keep playing destiny and not coming the marathon… the CEO at the head of the table nods to the being in the corner of the room. It’s decided then kill everything remotely fun and make no more content…. and they will come to Marathon….. the small ghost sitting at the end of the table furthest away from the dark being whispers… but what about all the other video games out there like Baldurs Gate 3? The dark being in the corner reaches over, plucks it out of the air and crushes it in its fist….. Meeting adjourned see you all on the next expansion now delayed until June 2075…
