It is a real shame that red war is no longer present, and if I may be honest, it looks significantly more interesting, and better than the edge of fate storyline
It would have been nice if you could have recreated it, or replaced it, if it was contested
The missing content really hurts the game, even though I don't know what I have missed, the feeling is there, even if I had no idea something was missing
It may be a bit too little, too late, but I felt it must be said
Really had high hopes for Destiny 2, coming off of Destiny 1, kind of let down

1 ReplyRed war was the onboarding experience players who jump on destiny 2 for the first time need, this experience showcases what's to come throughout their playthrough. Each seasonal and episodic story that fills the in-between for each expansion is needed to keep pushing the player in a direction that feels meaningful, and impactful to the overall experience of the story when playing the game. The destiny content vault really killed the game, I'd be happy to see it return and for others to experience this game the way it was meant to be experienced. Watching aztecross stream the red war and forsaken story shows all the narratives and gameplay story beats that made destiny 2 even more loved by the community. If Bungie brings back all of the vaulted content for each expansion, and the seasonal, and episodic quest and stories that released the way we received them from day 1 of their releases. the game would be whole. Games like FFXIV that retain this content have proven why it's important not to vault content, for new players this is required to keep the players immersed and retain retention that is meaningful and give them the full experience that players want. Bungie brings this to destiny 2 they will earn the players trust again and bring in a new generation of guardians to experience the game for years to come.

They threw continuity out the window a long time ago. I mean look at EoF, first wholly new storyline was built off retconning their origin and stealing credit for manipulating events for us to win against the Witness. Despite the fact that EoF states they can’t send anyone back in time and that’s exactly what was done to Elsie Bray in order for her to teach us how to harness Darkness. So that’s how much they care about continuity

1 ReplyMate I agree, I said to someone recently when we were chatting during a raid, that it would have been better if Edge of Fate never happened and instead they rebuilt Red War, as they could have simultaneously fixed the new player experience. Sure there would maybe have had to deliver it for free, but they would have had more goodwill going in to Renegades and they would have had an appropriate new player route in to the game.

While visually interesting No weapons No abilities No sparrow or surfboard You had to walk across the entire maps slowly You didn't get fully equipped again until you finished the campaign IF we could play it with our gear then yes it will be quite the hoot

Creapure®Layoffs coming 31st July 2026...... 👀 - old
Red war was garbo - the opening mission looked by far the best & that's by design, to show in reveals & sell copies - it looked like a movie in comparison to the rest of the missions. The campaign itself was about an hour, maybe hour 15, it was mid at best. -
It's irrelevant for 2nd half of the light and dark saga.

I'm saying that we should have been been power 1 when you start the game and gradually get to the max level based on the expansion you're in rather than boosting players to the be able to do the newest content. Base game: 300 Curse: 330 Warmind: 380 Forsaken: 600 No skips. Just going through the content and reaching the cap of the expansion until you get to the next one or next season. No content removed. No fomo. Easier to ease in new players. Players rewarded for helping friends and randoms go through old content. Through escalation protocol and events etc. You can do the raid in the expansions with increased chance for the exotic from them. Best weapons to ease you into the next expansion. But no. Bungie didn't go that route.

5 RepliesRed war was not all that people make it out to be. it was less than 20 steps, a couple of them were strikes, followed by some random fetch quest. The big impact of being lightless, lasted all of about 2-3 steps. So the big "oh no" moment was about 20-30 min of not have full light powers. It terms of qualtiy of content, the newer stuff has better beats, but is still meh.
