Gear. I have planned for Griffin... executed it: 1. It just fits my OP Geralt plans the best 2. Doesn't/didn't require much backtracking nor did it require playing anything... I had to go to Skelliga for a minute, but there's no story beats connected... contracts tertiary, they're just PoI locations. Then I decided to get all the Grandmaster plans in B&W. I don't have the previous plans and won't, but since I plan on closing out B&W this was a good time to grab it all for leveling. When I hit 26 I made the Superior Set, and respec'd... added Griffin Technique from general to juice what is a Sign heavy kit right now, it will be evolving but right now that 20% sign intensity, +20% stamina regen is doing work. I did the Mutagen quest, I have 8/16 unlocked... I'd say half done, but it's really like 25%... because the resources required scale. Right now, I'm running crit magic. I'm angling toward a free decoction build. This is super tech, there is a quest... where you save a guy named Hugo, and he'll buy ANYTHING after. So, you can curate a Decoction list by selling the ones you don't use... or want activated with the free decoction ultimate mutagen. [i][To add: Hugo is an underappreciated secret merchant... he doesn't have a lot of money for trade, but he offers the BEST returns... he sells crafting alcohols... and for utility, for minmaxing/curating Alchemy/tox kits... and no weight kits, because he buys EVERYTHING... essentially allowing you to curate your kit with ZERO bloat. Oh, and he holds it all... like storage, when he refreshes, it doesn't get wiped like other vendors do with barter ― you can buy it back, on the cheap].[/i] So... that mutagen will randomly activate a decoction upon any critical effect... including burning. Up to 5 free stacking decoctions. So, I saved Hugo, and am curating the decoctions in Geralt's inventory... so when I unlock that ultimate mutagen, I will have it completely optimized. With Igni and Yarden spam... Igni has 100% chance to burn maxxed out, I have it maxxed out. Yarden slows, Alt Yarden stuns... I combo that ****. So that's my direction with kit, Sign/Free Decoctions. I also did do the first part of Kiera, because I needed the Eye. The Eye is used in B&W... all the way through the reverse, it wasn't 100% required... but I'm trying to do everything [in reverse] — I didn't want to miss anything along the way. Already used it twice since I got it. Then I did Knights for Hire for money, It has 15 steps... and it's more about the loot/money... that allowed me to unlock the final upgrade with the Oferi. Also, fully upgraded Corvo Bianco in B&W so I did the first steps of the main quest. That got me to level 29, and now I fully focused on B&W... saving contracts/quests for max xp gains as I'm still well under those reqs... and I'm closing out the PoIs on the map first. 34 for Master (corrected) Griffin, 35 to equip Excalibur... trying to get there before doing the tournament. 30 is kinda the hump for me, nothing will be struggle after that... maybe the Genie, but that's far away. I still haven't decided, Dracula or Beanstalk either... I'll look up the gear before I decide. My plan ... 35 via PoIs, ultimate Mutagen if possible.
