Serious question… what could Bungie do that would ACTUALLY satisfy you in relation to Destiny 2 or the Destiny franchise?
From where I’m sitting and seeing discourse, I don’t think there is anything that will be generally praised. People want that feeling of their favorite “era” or specific activity everyday 24/7 and that is just not possible.
*edit - thought I should answer my own question…
Besides the obvious portal removal stuff.
1) Finish Edge of Fate story. Better than Renegades story by far…
2) Rerelease the seasonal content. Too many great stories and monents just sitting there to be replayed and would help new players engage…
3) take what they’ve learned and build D3 with more depth, new non light based subclasses, mystery and exploration… and minimally supported PvP with regular balance passes and one dude sitting in a room making a map that could release every couple months.

3 RepliesI would like them to make some small changes to improve pvp e.g. - Make crossplay off the default to remove the desync issues - Keep players within their region to reduce the lag - Have a permanent hardware mode in crucible ops for those who want just gunplay Yes, the player base is low and this may increase wait times, but I'd sooner wait a little longer for a good game than have the laggy jitterfest we have now.

1 ReplyThe issue is foundational. There has been such a large host of -blam!- building up that when it finally crescendoed in Edge of Fate, people left en masse. There are three concurrent Loot Systems in the game with Random Drops, Crafting, and Tiered Loot. Legendaries have been rendered the baseline level of loot, as opposed to actually “legendary”. I could go on about loot system issues. That’s not including the way the game introduces you to activities and how the game works once you get past the Campaigns, which in themselves have been rendered to a single 5 hour run before you never touch it again. Those missions are worthless after you complete them. Lighting and Graphics are an issue. Destiny 2 just isn’t as loved as Destiny 1 and while the lighting update in Beyond Light was an upgrade, it did ruin old areas and has not been used to its full efficacy since (outside of raids). The game is less scenic and that’s sad. Idk what Bungie can do besides design a remaster of Destiny 2 from the ground up, and given the return of multiple D1 activities including the original D1 finale and all the raids beside Wrath of the Machine, Bungie should also remaster D1 into this “D2 remaster”. If they didn’t, well… that’d feel bad man. Bungie has shot Destiny in the gut then faceblasted it with a hose to ensure it stays awake just long enough to drain every last drop of money.

3 RepliesEdited by THA_3rd_GUY: 5/11/2026 10:49:21 AMIt's plan and simple. Bungie cannot support two live service games. They tried, and failed completely. The only way Bungie can save themselves is to stop support for one game and completely devote everything to the other. That's the only thing Bungie can do right now.

4 RepliesHonestly the first thing they need to do is ditch the Tiger engine and get something way more newer. Then give us dedicated servers. After that it gets confusing since some people will want this and others will want that.
-
I was perfectly fine with what they were doing. Apparently they weren't.

18-24 month large releases which include a raid and subclass changes / additions. Yearly cycle of new strikes, PvP maps, dungeons and story content. More MMO features such as clan housing, in game economies (good ones) and more ways to diverse your guardian. Side activities that are adjacent to the main game routine such as sparrow racing, fishing and more. Developers to be vocal and quick to react to community sentiment. A refocus on gunplay while keeping builds diverse and meaningful.

My need is simple: roll the game back to the state it was at the end of The Final Shape, leave the episodes like Heretic up and go into maintenence mode until their is a story that actually moves the plot forward either on D2 or as the launch of D3 (current and next been only). That said, I'm actually fine with dipping in and out now when the mood takes me as it has freed up the time necessary for other games that don't rely on addiction and mobile mechanics to keep me engaged.

3 RepliesYou can't satisfy everyone and most of the time people don't even know what they want or need. Personally as a collector i would love it if they allowed us to get all of what they have ever added to the game. In their original state. I know that i am the only one. I would also like the game to be more grindy, make the loot feel like a reward. Make legendries rare and Exotic even more rare. Buff them to make them worth the grind and make them feel like you were rewarded for your hard effort. Again i am probably the only one. There is more but i don't want to make a really long comment.

Reviving legacy content, returning vaulted content and I honestly think a WotM return would pull SO many people back, more so than a pantheon 2.
-
2 RepliesSell the game IP to an ethical, responsible, indy company so they can dump the portal, bring back vaulted content and introduce a proper anti cheat.

1. Make power level relevant What's the point of grinding all the way to 550 if you're weaker than enemies anyway because of scaling? 2. Add identity for each foundry Way too rigid with archetype and origin trait doesn't do much to make them stand out. Make some difference in visual such as reload animation and model or identity with certain foundry having higher stat in an aspect or foundry exclusive perk 3. Change how portal works Instead of a menu in a menu where everything outside is irrelevant, make it as one click menu for easier access if you don't know where an activity is located 4. Change how champions work Instead of "use this or GTFO" model, make them optional power boosts so you can keep using your favorite loadout but the seasonal build is still meta for having boosted performance 5. More optimization 100+ GB after removing roughly half of the game shows the poor optimization

Remove the portal and bring back the director as the main way to grind for gear again.
-
Make content that isn't a discrete math puzzle
-
Nothing. If i get bored one day I may buy future dlc on clearance.
-
Also, less jumping/math puzzles -OR- No timers outside raids/dungeons/specialized missions
-
Drop Marathon to free up devs Unfold the new saga the way they did with the light and dark - with story and PvE at the forefront, with continuous improvements to qol and bringing back legacy content. Curate PvP sandbox again, considering distancing that further from PvE

1 ReplyEdited by SCRFY N3RF HRDR: 5/10/2026 3:57:40 AMFor starters revert Khepris Horn balance changes from 4 years ago

2 RepliesPatrol definitely needed some love! It was by far my favourite activity
-
Not much they can do now with the amount of people working on it. Destiny is now just essentially diminishing returns, the video game.
-
Destiny 3. Seriously we need a refresh.

2 RepliesAccording to this forum, absolutely nothing 🤣
