What the hell is the ring in the traveler's laser?
ever since lightfall releaced i noticed there was a ring in the traveler's laser and it looked almost identical to the veil so it rases the question. what is it? is it another veil? is the veil a juvinile form of a traveler? was the veil a part of the traveler and ither got left behind because it was done using it to build its shell?
even if were dealing with the IX this is still on my mind since... well... what happens if they reunite? espechally if the IX decide to force it to reunite
will the traveler create dark ghosts like "Specters" or something that revives memorys instead of bodys or do both? gardians that remember who they where without third party intervention or investigation?
it seems like something that still could be used *espechally with how little we got out of lightfall regarding the traveler and veil* to question about WHAT the traveler is in the greater scale of things a trowel for the gardener? a scythe for the winower? both?

It’s nothing really, just imagery to show they are related. Fancy space magic symbology. The Veil is not a baby traveler and they don’t combine. It’s just a poorly conceived avatar for the Darkness, same as the Traveler now is for the Light. Dark Ghosts to bring back memories is kinda pointless, no one knew anything in their mortal lives. And yes we got very little about them in LF and TFS and Bungie just credited the Gardeners actions to The Nine in eof. So I don’t expect they will ever bother trying to explain them, since they dropped them as quick as they could.

Well even if we shatter the traveler, someone will rebuild it, so I dunno how to escape it... They use honeyed words, the nine, but they genuinely don't care...

So years ago the Traveler was damaged and it showed a bunch of its insides. These insides were kinda mechanical looking. It eventually repaired itself however. The likely case is the Traveler we see is a shell and the light controls it. It's also likely these mechanical insides is why the Eliksni call it "The great machine" In a sense the Traveler itself is a giant Ghost. Light encased in a shell. The veil from what extremely little we know of is like the opposite of the Traveler very likely it lives just like the Traveler does. We don't know much about them and probably never will at this rate. The veil is very likely the source of darkness since the Witness used the veil to learn that stuff so it's safe to assume that.

Since the Traveler was injured, I think the ring is probably like a girdle. It's helping hold things inside in case the Traveler gets attacked again.
