"BattlEye on Proton integration has reached a point where all a developer needs to do is reach out to BattlEye to enable it for their title. No additional work is required by the developer besides that communication."
and they only need to let the linux opeating systems through their own anticheat.
Don't say this is too much for Bungie; they already did all of this for the stadia version of the game and intentionally did not release it to the public.
Their unwillingness to email and a couple hours of reconfiguring the proprietary anticheat (work was already done there before for stadia) is saddening.

Day 8675309 wont happen as coding/porting takes time

1. Battleye is not their only anticheat 2. To use Battleye on linux is cant run at kernal level, meaning it will be even more ineffective than it already is. 3. Linux makes up such a small marketshare that Bungie deemed not worth the cost of support.
Don't say this is too much for Bungie; they already did all of this for the stadia version of the game and intentionally did not release it to the public.
You can see the difference right? Stadia, end users had no access to the machine, vs every Linux Larry able to do what they want.

Not worth the time or money to do so when there are way more important things to do like fix player retention and player on boarding . The game still has a lot of core problems that Linux won't fix.
-
Bungie has already said multiple times before they have no interest in putting d2 on Linux.

Day 582 of people telling you no & why Bungie won’t do it. You are fighting a losing battle.
