After many Contol matches, I've noticed that in almost every match, there are players with ZERO captures, but with many kills. These players only play for kills and their k/d's.
I'm getting pretty annoyed because of these EGO'S, because they are using their team for their k/d's. They basically play Clash, but in Control.
So to you guys: you can have 35 kills and 3 k/d, but we still lost because of you not playing the objective. It's not difficult to kill players on not relevant locations in Control, because they don't expect to get killed on those locations.
Just show some balls and play the objective. Help your team.

Agree… Why Play Control of you’re not playing the objective… Even worse in competitive…

1 ReplyI sometimes wish you could kill your own teammates

6 RepliesIs that a crime? I’ve been doing that for a decade. Check my YouTube. Since 2015 high kill games never get old.

3 RepliesYou could argue that them out getting kills allows you space to take objective. Don't get me wrong, if I'm on a flag and someone runs past me and doesn't help - screw that guy - but don't have a go at the guy holding the other team back for you.

1 ReplyOn many maps it's better to grab 2 zones and defend both. In this case you won't have many captures but you will control the spawn points and fight engagements. And in non IB control, the players pushing the 3rd zone and then flipping the zones and causing the loss of 2 zones are doing it wrong. Just grab 2 zones and defend. It's the low kda players losing most games. Even with 1 zone mathematically a 2.0 kda will still keep you in the game. So, if I see someone with over a 2.0 and a low zone capture I don't mind. They are carrying their weight. It's the low kda runners that don't understand strategy.

Ever see a Twitch streamer or YouTuber cap a zone? Very, very rarely.

2 RepliesHahaha love this post.. in case you don’t know for each kill while holding multiple zone you get points, for example; holding 3 points and you get a kill you get 3 points towards that kill holding no zones you get 1 point so please explain to me that if that slayer on the team didn’t help his team. Each team has objective players and slayers. Don’t think for a second that it’s Easier to be a slayer then to play obj. If that was the case everybody would watch obj streamers. And this is not even calculating the fact that slayers often controle map possession, spawn location, flow / impact of moral on the map. You ever here someone say dang I got slayed because they have captured more zone then me, no it’s always I couldn’t get out of my spawn location without getting killed. Then more destiny related, supers are game changers, supers are tied to intelect and damage per game. You play obj and feel like you’re the man of the game. But you’re not gonna get a roaming super twice per game unless you slay, this all ties into winning. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with playing the obj. But maybe ease up buddy. Because behind slayer in the game is game is often someone who is making sure that the enemy is comming from one location. Players have a hard time pushing the zone/obj, is someone -blam!- if someone is spending 7 seconds in a respawn game those players are not capping obj. Or building super or pushing you in you’re spawn. Or making sure that one guy who slips true you can have a 1 v 1 on you’re obj instead of 1 v 5 grenades spam. But to the above avrg pvp player this whole post is screaming I don’t know how to play. But maybe go watch some professional call of duty and so that there are 3 slayers in a controle match and only one obj player.

I don’t care about these guys but the many of them quit when they get stomped on and ruin the game for everyone else.
-
If you can’t slay, play OBJ. Slay don’t cap

2 RepliesCounterpoint: it’s quickplay, you do what you want, I’ll do what I want.

Kills/defending zones > captures
-
Also the pros don't play around with those zones. They immediately grab them when they spawn in. So the better players actually play the game and immediately grab zones and then kill so there's no excuse for players not to do the same. Unfortunately a lot are missing right now😞. Now what I'm seeing is teams splitting up the ENTIRE game trying to get 3 zones which just spawns the enemies on the other half of their own team.🤷 Certain maps are really limited to spawn locations so it could be those players running past the zone could also be spawn killers.

I'll give you 2 thoughts on this: 1. Sometimes it is correct to not get the cap push ahead so the team can get the CP... even sacrificing yourself. Thats the forward non-cappers... then theres the background non-cappers controlling gameplay with scout/sniper and/or floating outside. Thing is you get a spectrum of humanity there and its actually amazing that you can still sometimes get a balanced game with that... and so I hear your frustration and definitely have those thoughts... -------------- 2. Its my, not gonna be popular opinion, you can solve some of this by taking away TTK/damage perks > kill clip, adagio, sword logic, rampage, elemntal honing, radiant., weapon stat..etc... see some of those players are rushing to continue to perk... players several above others can maintain that perk for so long... I actually think this should be tested to understand how the game flows.. is it more balanced cause now.. every engagement is actually important in own right... if I'm 2v1'd and I'm a good player why do I get easier time on the 2nd one because I killed the 1st one... that dude did nothing wrong... I'm the one 1 caught in a 2v1 and I should suffer... I myself choose the consistency perks EOTS, TTP, Keep Away, DSR... I think that precision instrument, explosive, headseeker.. those are more ok... but I'm interested to see folks opinion on this if they read it. ------------ but overall I'm gonna say you just have to accept and try find wonder in how these "special" folks... just can't balance objective and kills and think they are the main player in every game... however I will say that I do think we could try a clash & control swapping playlist maybe it will calm their inner demons... -
2 RepliesNobody should just bot on the objective. The game is more complex than "Just get kills" or "Just bot on the objective". I used to run with a guy who would beg me to play with him. He could go rack up +30 kills no problem, but had absolutely ZERO gamesense regarding objectives. Meanwhile, I'd be lucky to pull a 1.2 KD, yet we would roll lobbies because we'd work around my gamesense regarding which objective to pressure and cover. It was like guiding a missile and worked incredibly well! My best advice is that if you understand objective gameplay and pressure, find people who frag out and will work around your gamesense. They'll carry the kills while you carry the objective.

Sounds like ur kid is low skilll issue passs lol

1 ReplyEdited by Bluebairy: 5/6/2026 9:09:04 PMIf you only cared about obj you would be killed as soon as you walked out of your own flag spawn every time. The people getting kills are the only reason why you can freely move around to make plays.

2 RepliesYou can have fun in games not playing to win all the time. In fact, even the portal everyone hates could be viewed as a negative data driven consequence of rewards-based, objective-based, win-based playing and thinking. But don’t yell Bungie that. They knuckled down from here and made Marathon. I’ve also never known the game to not be what you described. So welcome to the party I guess? 🥳

2 RepliesMy thoughts on this… If I capture 8 zones and get 16 kills and you capture zero zones and get 30 kills then that’s ok. If you capture zero zones and get less kills than me then you’re just a -blam!-🤣
-
If it was domination, I would agree. The players who are slaying out are literally getting the points for you.

2 RepliesEdited by NotCreative123: 5/5/2026 9:47:47 PMI hate when players ignore the objective and play the opposite side of the map. On the other hand, you have players with some captures and a 0.1 KA/D. That is equally unhelpful. Maintaining zone control is almost entirely based on how well your team secures kills. Eliminating the other team is as crucial a role as capturing a zone is. Imo, "objective final blows" (or the other types of final blows, don't remember names), are just as important as getting zones.

In control or lockdown? In control it’s impossible to have any sort of fun because of sbmm. Lockdown yes but it’s only sometimes.

Think 90% of players left are sweatlords lol

Control? Capture? What is this you speak of? I just go in and pewpew players 🙃

Fun fact, it's control not domination, you can hold 1 flag the entire game & win 150-0 & it helps YOU cap flags if there's no one trying to kill you when youre capping it because a guy is in their spawn making them dead
