With the new armor update only dropping within the parameters of the new armor archetypes i feel this has become even more of a problem. So now not only do i need to grind the different sets to have the ability to mix and match the Set Bonuses, i have to grind out pieces in various archetypes so i can have the stat spread i want for different builds as well.
Even if you added more archetypes to the current system, it wouldn't make it any less ridiculous in terms of grinding.
Personally, I think the solution can be as simple as adding armor stat tuning. Give me a set amount of points and let me put them where i want them to be.
I have an insane amount of time in the D1/D2 games and i think there is no grind in the collective Destiny history as bad as the new armor stats.
(Although the D1 exotic sword grind was pretty painful too.)
I know some people will immediately complain because they want a slog of a grind and don't want it to become easier(see the red border pushback as an example) but i say to them an incredibly easy to follow suggestion : If you don't want it, don't engage with it. Just leave them how they drop and grind more. For the rest of us, it would be akin to a Bungie Miracle to not require 200 hours of grinding for just armor.

The armor system lol What I wanted back was for the guns to actually be the main weapon of choice, not your abilities and supers. Destiny lost it defining qualities when it became about abilities and supers. The fact that someone can go in and beat an entire level with barely using their gun in a shooter is kind of backwards to me. All they gotta do is just keep throwing up that arc grenade turret and walk around and let the turret kill the enemies.

1 ReplyThe new armor system is much more tedious. I dont have vault space for it. When I start to get low on space, I delete 20-30 of one set to basically get rid of the whole set because if I dont have ability to change build for different stat splits, then why keep it. The more sets they add, the less I think I even want to deal with it and the inventory management associated with it. I will just set and forget, and delete all new gear. The system should not take up space in our vault, but should add tokens to unlock the armor set bonus on a single piece of gear. With how much space is needed for exotic class items, random roll weapons/exotics now, I just dont have space anymore, even with the extra space we were given most recently. I would much rather a return to crafting, and never have gear removed from availability once it unlocks. If I delete something, I want to be able to re-earn it!
