ISP: TIM Italy
Did all the regular troubleshooting steps, but this problem started to show up since Marathon launch about one month ago when Bungie announced that they would make some changes to the network structure for the upcoming game release.
Furthermore, nothing in my configuration has changed for the last 3 years, same computer, same router, same ISP etc.
To reinforce this: everything else works perfectly fine, other games, browser, programs etc.
Nowadays this is my experience when playing Destiny:
- I launch the game from Steam, title screen - CURRANT;
- "Destiny servers are not available", try again;
- the game logs in, the Guardian selection screen appears;
- I select a Guardian and find myself in orbit with my ship while "contacting Destiny servers" pops up from time to time;
- I open the Portal and select "Tower", matchmaking for Tower starts;
- Error code: CENTIPEDE, and brings me back to orbit;
- 2nd attempt: CENTIPEDE, and brings me back to orbit;
- 3rd attempt: CENTIPEDE, and brings me back to orbit;
- 4th attempt: CENTIPEDE, and brings me back to orbit;
- 5th attempt: matchmaking is succesful and I load into the Tower;
Now, lets say I want to launch Crucible: CURRANT, back to orbit and try again!
I want to start a Vanguard Alert: CURRANT, back to orbit and try again!
...I think you get it by now and you can sense my frustration.
I would request Bungie to get in touch with the ISP as they already did in the past with Italy specifically and see if the traffic is mishandled or if there is a packet loss somewhere.
Please BNGHelp do not stop at the standard responses: dig deeper in this problem, because our experience with the game is seriously impacted.
Thanks in advance.
