Hello dear community(and hopefully community team :D),
Since the share of steam users has more than doubled according to the march 2026 steam hardware survey (5.3%, up from 2.2%), could the support of linux be a possibility with your Bungie anti-cheat?
Also, in regards to Destiny 2's use of Battleye, Valve stated Four Years Ago that Proton Support for Battleye is as easy as contacting Battleye about game support. (https://store.steampowered.com/news/group/4145017/view/3104663180636096966)
While I acknowledge the wariness of including people with Full access and control of their computers, It is important to note that competitive PvP esports games like Counterstrike, The Finals, and Overwatch(unofficially) allow Linux support, whereas Destiny 2 is mainly a PvE game with a couple PvP modes and has never supported it. According to https://steamdb.info/charts/, Steam's concurrent users hover between 26 million and 40 million throughout the day, that would be about 1.3-2.1 million users without access to Destiny 2 at any given moment. Furthermore, Destiny 2 sits at the most community wanted for Linux support on Proton DB (https://www.protondb.com/explore?sort=fixWanted). It currently sits higher than the launcher for Call of Duty, Battlefield 2042, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, and Rainbow Six Siege. This is clear indication that there Is major demand for Destiny 2 on Linux, and these numbers can only increase with the release of the refreshed Steam Machine in the coming months.
Whoever reads this, whether or not you work at Bungie, thank you for your time.

Hope not. Bungie is struggling with what they have now
