Destiny 2 display name is diffrent from bungie name
I have a cross linked account from my old PSN which has the name TitanFirePilot. When I log in it displays my current Bungie ID which is Edin. But when I open a character and play it displays as the bungie name TitanFirePilot. All my friends also see this name. That bungie name doesn't exist on the site for me so is there any way to make my actual in-game name the same as my current bungie name?

What you describe does sound odd to us, especially given our records show your Bungie name should be Edin#1950. Unfortunately, we're unable to access the linked screenshot.
