1 ReplyRead the dark tower by Stephen King? 7 book series, absolutely captivating. Lots of his other stuff is amazing too. Try cell & the dome. Not sci fi but horror, & absolutely out there. His character writing is top class & hooks you.

1 ReplyFor old school sci fi, The Legacy of Heorot and Beowulf's Children by Niven, Pournelle, and Barnes are quick reads and pretty good.

1 ReplyHouse of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski.

3 RepliesI like Jack Campbell books, especially the Lost Fleet series. It’s kinda hard sci fi but it’s also got the usual BS to explain FTL and inertia dampening. As for Horror reads, any one of Hermies posts will do it for ya 🤣. The way he butchers normal sentence structure when attempting to write a coherent paragraph is up there with the classics of Dracula and Frankenstein. 🤣

5 RepliesHypnogogia by Michael Simpson was pretty neat. it's not very sci-fi, but it was very trippy, pretty fun. The evil monster feels pretty eldritch, really gets you inside the protag's head. Though, content warning for suic*de. And also the cover is pretty gnarly, so keep that in mind before clicking on the link. https://www.amazon.com/Hypnagogia-Michael-F-Simpson-ebook/dp/B0CX9H45R3/ref=sr_1_1?crid=21KMAY6UOSW9A&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.5AP8bzQ6L7KDeHPGL8m1ckDz_AzihPKg_Nuus-Ntwck.MgXMFe38qDeuHvqof8NibitBBjWIvdj4PuDT9bTxJ2s&dib_tag=se&keywords=hypnagogia+michael+simpson&qid=1774623388&sprefix=hypnagogia+michael+-blam!-%2Caps%2C305&sr=8-1
