What a joke
Log in for Guardian Games, checks event track, sees a completed Arms Week track from who knows how long ago… Eververse looks to be functioning though! BIG sigh of relief there… at least we can get all these new cosmetics with real world money or if we stuck around playing this busted game for Bright Dust scraps for weeks leading up to the event… who wants to actually EARN any of this IN GAME when you could just dump money into a broken game going nowhere. Y’all are hopeless… just shut it down already, this 💩 is beyond sad.

Dude, play the game but don’t expect anything! There are a lot of people that still play D1 and have accepted the state of the game. Many of them never even moved to D2. If you still like the game just play and accept there will be little to no attention from Bungie or move on. Well… not to another Bungie game but move on and find something else to play.

This is what happens when one does not leave at least one competent programmer on a game to ensure an event launches in an acceptable state. I don't know how those left to maintain D2 are still employed because at this point, I wouldn't trust them to run a bath, let alone maintenance. Or maybe that is by design.

4 RepliesIsn’t this basically proof at this point that Bungie have just about washed their hands of Destiny? Guardian Games—love it or hate it—has been a yearly event since 2020. It used to get proper buildup: TWABs weeks in advance, coverage from streamers, discussions about new loot, changes to the current episode… it felt like something that actually mattered. This year? Barely a whisper. And to top it off, they couldn’t even launch it properly—something they’ve managed to do for the last five years. Let’s be honest, Guardian Games isn’t exactly groundbreaking content. It’s largely the same framework every year with a few cosmetic tweaks. It should be as simple as flipping a switch—like turning on Christmas lights. Sure, maybe a bulb or two goes out, but you fix it quickly and move on. Instead, this year feels completely on trend: no communication, messy rollout, minimal effort. And it’s hard not to connect the dots. All the attention clearly seems to be going toward that *other* game. At this point, I’m half-expecting people logging into Marathon to find Guardian Games running there instead. Shows how much attention Destiny is getting when an annual event fails to launch.

There Bungie, I used my 6,000 bright dust to get my Titan the Guardian Games set! Now I can tell all my friends that quit the game long ago and don’t get a 💩 anymore that I got it grinding bounties for Bright Dust weeks beforehand and not by doing well WITH my Titan DURING the event, big flex! 💪 Game deleted, see ya next time for your next installment of disappointment!

Very recently, I went down the rabbit hole of disaster that was Kid Nation. After barely touching Destiny 2 for weeks, I really see a lot of similarities. Which is not something you want to draw parallels to.
