If you’re going to be reprising truly everything that’s able to be obtained from a raid or dungeon, stat bumps also need to happen for some of the old ones such as the dreaming city and moon weapons. Even if they have good perks, no one’s going to want to grind for the old weapons if their stats are just so left behind.
Additionally, it would be awesome to consider changing archetypes or elements of some of the older weapons since strand, stasis, and many archetypes didn’t exist during their release. This would also help avoid so much overlap with rereleasing weapons of the same element and archetype i.e. adding both arc logic and vs pyroelectric propellant back as arc adaptive auto rifles.
To give an example, here is how I would like to see the moon weapons changed inside pit of heresy:
Change every waking moment from a void precision frame smg to a void aggressive burst
Change love and death from a rapid fire solar grenade launcher to a solar compressed wave frame
Change premonition from a void high impact pulse to a void rocket pulse rifle
Change arc logic from an arc adaptive auto rifle to an arc support frame auto rifle (PLEASE.)
Change night terror from an arc adaptive sword to a strand wave sword.
None of these types of weapons exist yet, which would give people a lot of reason to hop back in a classic dungeon such as pit of heresy.
Please Bungie, try and get this right. The dungeon and raiding scene is more dead than I’ve ever seen it in this game and it really hurts to see that. While I know the game will most likely never be “alive” again unless it’s D3 we’re talking about, there’s still more players than people would like to admit who would hop back in if there was an actual endgame scene again with relevant loot to chase. I’m still holding on.

2 RepliesThese are great changes minus one-
Change night terror from an arc adaptive sword to a strand wave sword.
We have Abysal Edge, (Episode: Heresy) which is a Strand Wave Frame Sword. I'd rather see it become a Strand Adaptive with Eager Edge in the 3rd column....

Oooo an Arc Support Frame. I'm intrigued.

That’s a great idea

I endorse all of these changes. The only thing I would add is all raids should still drop red borders of their previous versions for those of us who never got the patterns. It should still drop tiered loot of course, but drop an extra red border here and there. For some weapons, like the rocket launcher from VoG for example, you can't beat the OG godrolls for. EA/BnS will always be the godroll for any RL. At the very least let us use harmonizers on the new tiered version if we don't have the full pattern yet. That way we can still have the original crafted version if we want, and can still grind for the new/upgraded versions, if that's your jam. This would only be for raid weapons so it shouldn't be too hard to implement. With them updating old raid weapons to the tiered system, this effectively kills crafting. Depending on the gun, the crafted version will always be better, for most players anyways. Grinding for the pattern AND the tiered version would make re-running old raids, or finally learning old ones you never got around to, with some of the terrible tandoms you get on LFG just that much more worth the hassle. Some raids can be downright painful and long, depending on the team. Plus it would just be a nice goodwill gesture after A) killing crafting in the first place (d*ck move), and B) abandoning the game for Marathon and leaving us in a drought for an extra 4 freaking months! And even when this game does finally get updated, all we're getting is updates to OLD content, which is just classic Bungie. You need to add all you can to this update to make up for the blatant disrespect you've shown lately, while not even acknowledging said disrespect. Bungie, you have a lot to make up for, even more than usual, which has become a yearly pattern for you since Lightfall.
