Personally, I only have two things I’d like to see.
One, a return of all content in D1 and D2 with some minor caveats. Not all seasonal content needs to return, but the primary activities during those seasons do. Also, restructure the seasonal story missions, so that they are longer and not so repetitive. On top of this, any pre Witch Queen Campaign content needs to be adapted into Witch Queen or Edge of Fate level campaigns. Missions either need to be combined, extended, or made significantly more difficult.
Two, I want to see a simplification of the portal. We don’t need to have completely customizable content, because while we should be able to play “our way” it should pertain to how we adapt to the modifiers already in place. Something akin to D1 where you have a Weekly Raid, Weekly Story Mission, Weekly Nightfall, but with this, I’d also include a couple more “playlists”. Instead of a Weekly Mission, I’d say let there be a weekly CAMPAIGN, and turn the Weekly Mission into a Daily Mission. On top of that, include a Weekly “Party” playlist, where the modifiers are more extreme, and include content from the Seasonal Activities. The activities should be random, but the modifiers are universal across the activities during the week. Or at least create a curated rotation for the week. Of course, we’d also see Weekly Dungeons, Crucible Playlists, etc.
Along with that, I’d like to see the return of Strike specific loot, which should be just as rare as an exotic as it is now, and an overall reduction in the rarity of both legendaries and exotics. We shouldn’t be drowning in purple, and with a reset to the current sandbox, it would allow for Powercreep to be managed.
Now here is a controversial take. We should see a return to Sunsetting, but with the caveat that legacy content, being Strike Specific loot, Raid Gear, etc, should be able to be regrinded and earned once again. For problem loot, like say, the Black Spindle back in D1, with the Sunset, also comes a new Perk Pool. It gives a reason to return to legacy content, because you need to play the raid again to earn the loot again. And it doesn’t just “take away” the loot, because you still have access to these versions, albeit you need to grab them again.

Made by EA so there will be fewer micro transactions.

1 ReplyNo content from d1 or d2 Thematically informed loot. Fighting bugs should drop bug scale gauntlets, defeating a cyclops boss should drop its eye as an exotic, etc. Strike specific loot. Same reasoning as above. No more ambient radio dialogue during missions. Where are vanguard? And how is the villain on the line chatting with them about what we’re doing? They can’t all be omniscient. Is Zavala really just sitting in the tower watching our body cam footage 24/7? It makes zero sense. Why can we hear crow and Petra at the end of the dreaming city arena? They weren’t there helping us. Are they nearby? Why are we constantly evesdropping? Npcs that are actually part of the game (eg. saint in excision) and have agency, instead of being a location (like banshee). Show the strength of characters from the lore in the gameplay. More creatures, species, races, and unique bosses. even if the main races were the only intelligent life in the galaxy there should still be more dangerous creatures and mutations lurking around, Planets are big, and still havent even retaken earth, who knows what’s out there? More large spaces. Fast sparrows and movement tech over years of improvement has made some spaces feel smaller, I’d like to see maps built with that in mind

I want completely new content. Nothing brought from d1 or d2.

Edited by Guardian, Archon Of Light: 3/19/2026 4:48:47 PMNo reused assets from D1 or D2, your vault gets left in the past New Solar System New Destinations New Playable Species New Protagonists, with us discovering legends of our guardians career All New Abilities New Classes

You lost me in the very first paragraph. If D3 ever happens, it better not have a single solitary piece of anything in D1 or D2 except for the acknowledgement of past events/timelines. No reprised guns or armor either. Bungie already sold Destiny players an embarrassing amount of nostalgia and re-skins. The Witness is dead, and to me, so is Sol. D3 should send us to a new solar system where we find AT LEAST one brand new guardian or playable character type, if not a complete replacement of what exists now. All new enemies, world's, armors, weapons, subclasse, etc... In essence, it should be a D1... universe unknown... an unsolved and completely new experience.

Dedicated servers would be the priority.

1. Complete fresh start. Resurrected as a new guardian somewhere else not the Cosmodrome or EDZ. 2. 9v9 Big team battle mode for pvp. 3. World invasions like the Taken in D1 but with their own weapon drops. 4. Replace Zavala,Ikora,Eris,Saint 14 and Osiris with new characters(replace the characters not the VA's). This would help make the game feel fresh. 5. Archon's Forge/Court of Oryx small arena style activities accessible in patrol on all destinations with their own loot pools. 6. No armour or weapons from D1 or D2 carried over or added later. All new weapons and armour.

HUGE investment in public spaces that lets anyone just hop in and join and actually leads into an arena as all of the people get on their sparrows to get there. Soft mechanics. Just more public events like the one on Neomuna. That gives good loot. Also make Endgame mandatory like it used to be.

Other players.

Not mine idea but sounds good for a D3 start: After killing the Witness we are being sent to his home planet to investigate the remains of that civilisation. Find new alien races, new evil etc. It can be a good start story wise. We can lose our light and darkness powers going that far but obtain new powers and abilities (no invis pls) Gameplay wise I would like better servers, no SBMM in PvP, no FBMM in PvP, Better anti cheat for all platforms. No seasonal model rather new activities rotating on a weekly/monthly basis for example. New raids, more Nairobi labs like activities. No limit to credits and materials, bulk options in inventory management and many more Qol updates. Mostly important a ready game not a half baked release.

A ping system similar to the one from remnant

A better Bungie

We need a complete divorce from the existing timeline. Pre-Tower is a better bet than post anything in the current timeline. Something that's darker and grittier. Early stages of the traveler. Clan warfare amongst lightbearers and rogue guardians. Think about what it'd be like to go fight Lord Citan...... I'm imagining something dark in tone and theme, like Outriders, meets Destiny gameplay. More intuitive combat, less cannon fodder. More gunplay, less ability spam. Lead into the construction of The Last City and the first Tower, and uniting humanity against the Eliksni.

1 Reply1. That's not 'Destiny 3,' that's a remaster/collection. 2. I like it. 3. That's the same as number 1.

1 ReplyNo classes, no subclasses. Fully customizable abilities.

5 RepliesI've said it and I'll say it again, D3 needs to be a prequel set a few centuries before D1.
