Hello,
Platform: Steam (PC)
I recently reinstalled Destiny 2 on Steam after not playing the game for a very long time. The game downloaded and installed normally with no errors.
When I launch the game, everything loads correctly and I can reach the main menu and the character selection screen. However, about 20–30 seconds after the game connects to the servers, I get disconnected with Error Code: WEASEL.
This happens every single time I start the game and it occurs even if I do not select a character. The disconnect happens consistently after around 20–30 seconds.
My internet connection is stable and I do not experience any issues in other online games or services.
Troubleshooting steps I have already tried:
* Restarting my PC
* Restarting my router
* Verifying the integrity of game files on Steam
* Logging out and back into Steam
* Making sure no VPN is running
* Confirming that other online games work normally
I also ran a speed test and my connection results were approximately:
Download: ~659 Mbps
Upload: ~361 Mbps
Ping: ~3 ms
Based on these results, my internet connection appears stable and fast.
Additionally, my account is only used by me on my personal computer and no one else has access to it, so it is not possible that the account is being used on two devices at the same time.
This issue started immediately after reinstalling the game following a long break from Destiny 2.
Because of this, I am wondering if the issue could be related to account authentication, a Steam platform session issue, or something server-side rather than a network problem.
Any help or further troubleshooting guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you..
