Hey there, Bungie Names are shared across Destiny 2, Marathon, and Bungie.net, so what you’re seeing in Destiny is the same Bungie Name that Marathon is using. When a name hits our updated filters (or runs into the current Marathon/Redacted issue), it can be automatically reset to Redacted#### and the old name becomes unavailable. You can find the full policy here: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/7648312251284-Bungie-Name-Guide There are two things you can do from here: Try changing your Bungie Name on the website Go to https://www.bungie.net and sign in Click your profile icon > Settings Under Identity Settings, enter a new Bungie Name and Save This uses a Name Change token, which is limited, but Bungie has granted tokens again recently for players affected by Redacted names. If you can’t change it or you’re stuck as Redacted, submit an appeal Go to the Bungie Safety contact form: https://safety.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/42349301189524-Contact-Form-Appeal-Ban-or-Restriction Click Submit Request at the bottom For “What type of content restriction are you appealing?”, choose “Bungie Name was changed” Include your current Bungie Name (Redacted0509) and the old one you’re trying to get back. Please note: the numbers after the # are always random and can’t be chosen, so even if your name is restored, the numeric ID may be different than before.
