Bungie hate train :/

I am really hyped for these new bungie releases this year especially marathon but every corner I turn it’s just more and more piled up misinformation and negativity about bungie and it’s starting to make me not like being a destiny fan

  • Unfortunately, it's been a consistent thing since at least Halo CE and with popular games in general. When I first joined, there was a dedicated website to hating Halo 2 (eloquently named Halo2sucks.com), where people would still read the weekly updates only to try and find new ways to attack Bungie. Forums weren't much better. Unfortunately, hate will always be loud. I hope you find a way to still enjoy the games and filter out the vitriol.

ah.. because during destiny's 1 development hell, higher ups in bungie destroyed the company.. and the entire fandom.. and since 2014.. the hate is warranted. - cut up content, to be sold later. (when the content was already done ON THE DISK!) - realising destiny's 1 original story was cut, and what we got in 2014 was a complete disaster. - firing loyal members over nothing. (and being quite awful about it) - stealing art from artists from the internet, (and putting it into games numerous times) - after deej left, there's been a hole between studio and community - no public apology for these issues? we need a ViDoc like response to help rebuild this community..

    • I think it’s several things. 1. Entitlement: many gamers think their money entitles them to a personalized experience. So they reflexively complain. 2. Bungie has not maintained a consistent vision of the game. Which has trained many people to think that they can control what Bungie does if they just complain loud enough. 3. Destiny has taken a path since Lightfall that a lot of players (including me) simply do not like…and the current devs aren’t really listening to the negative feedback and are ignoring the declining player numbers…and just keep digging in. 4. Many Destiny players feel that the game was robbed of resources it needed to power Marathon’s development. So they’re is quite a bit of resetting has bed built up…and Bungie has done a poor job of acknowledging and managing.

    • The urge to provide negative feedback is stronger than to provide positive feedback. That’s just the law of the land I’m afraid and beyond any specific reasons why people are feeling mad now, it’s been happening forever on these forums like Steel Assassin said. If you have a complaint about a company and you know they have a website with a community forum, that is literally the FIRST place you’re gonna go in order to air that grievance.

    • Can you blame them when bungie keeps making questionable decisions with the game while ignoring problems? When they can't even get destiny right how can you tell marathon won't be the same?

      • I've decided to play the game I enjoy...whether that's plain patrol, Dares or Wellspring, dungeons, raids, or "new stuff" in the portal, it doesn't matter. We have what we have. Fot most, it's easier to complain, be miserable, and jump on the negative train. I'm not a fan of the portal, but that's the way things are going. I still love to play this game. I'm on almost every day. I've found some amazing people to play with. We have a lot of fun causing chaos. To me, those are both reasons to keep playing and enjoying myself. If you're hyped for Marathon, that's your choice. Don't let any nay-sayers wreck that for you. I've learned there's a game for everyone, and everyone doesn't need to love every game. If that was the case, we'd still all be playing Pong.
