Stop kicking us out of menus when nothing happens.
You know how frustrating it is to get repeatedly booted from menus when you're trying to grab something from the vault, or try to report players applying scorch to the entire team on spawn, or make a quick weapon change between playlist activies to better suit that map etc.
How about never remove players from any menu unless you spawn or respawn and your feet hit the ground.

Do it in orbit not loading into a area

2 RepliesIt's an essential part of the loot game. Whilst moving from area to area & hub etc, it ensures any gear isn't lost or duplicated. It's annoying, no doubt, but it's there for a reason.

It’s annoying but it’s actually in place to prevent you losing stuff. There used to be a bug that if you changed items when loading in you had a chance to lose them.
-
I used to hate that too then i started getting kicked out of the game back to orbit with endless error codes. It used to make me so mad now i feel lucky and spared that i don’t have to play bungieslop

The number of times I feel a vein throbbing on the side of my head from this. Don't give me all these nice menus to look through if im gonna get kicked rapid fire from them

Edited by ruhlo: 2/2/2026 11:45:07 PMMan that has been a problem since d1. I had to laugh inside when I saw this post. It is so frustrating for sure

Bumb this to The Moon 🌝

Tbh most games wouldn't let you access your menu as much as Destiny does. Its more than likely just some bandaid fix to prevent bugs.

Is this really that much of an issue? I literally only go into my menu during flight to read lore while I wait to land. If I need to change weapons because of the map in PvP I can normally do it in the time the screen goes black after the map name is revealed and actually spawning in. It's admittedly harder on certain consoles than others, but doable more often than not. And I'll normally carry the weapons I want to use on me so it's even faster. Like, is this really a thing? That people aren't prepared before they land in? If so, might explain all the people idling at spawn in matches I play.

Sometimes its really jarring Especially during some sequences like loading into Frontier missions, get kicked out, try again, get kicked out again Sometimes you rush to try to get the weapon or armor piece your looking for, and just as you find it, you get kicked at the last very millisecond before you can press the button to retrieve it If our mental health is really important to Bungie, they will fix this, its enough to trigger a migraine

Edited by Andy: 2/2/2026 12:28:25 AMWon't change I'm afraid as the kick from the menus is itself a bodge fix to another problem. In the past bungo found that moving or changing gear at certain points in load transitions could result in the items being lost. Their bodge of a fix was to kick us out of menus at any such point so we couldn't be changing or moving gear at those times rather than fixing the underlying problem.
-
On PC, it's not as annoying as on console, since switching between menus is faster. But overall, yes, it's annoying. I don't think this will change until they upgrade the engine in the next game (if it ever comes out). At least we have quick loadout switching.

3 RepliesYeah, it drives me mad when I'm queueing into an activity and trying to grab something from my vault and it repeatedly keeps kicking me out. 🤬
-
Great post, and how many years have we had to suffer this?
-
It switches lobbies/connects with instances, etc. But why it gets kicked back all the time is something Bungo has to answer for........ if they listen
-
lol or you just get over it cause it will never change in d2…..I mean with everything wrong in d2 that is your gripe 🙄😂
-
D2 is just a space drama about patch notes and troubleshooting at this point.

Especially in the Lawless Frontier. Holy hell they constantly boot you
