The problem with the characters from Destiny 1

I stopped playing Destiny 1 after Destiny 2 came out. After a long time, I wanted to get back into the game. I installed Destiny 2 on PC and linked my Steam account when I logged in. I later regained access to my PSN account and was able to log into Bangie's account. Unfortunately, without fully understanding the new cross-platform play rules, I ended up with two Destiny accounts. The first is the one I played on before The Taking King DLC, and the second is the one I recently started playing on. Ultimately, I decided the best idea would be to link my old PSN to the new account, but for some reason, my PlayStation characters just aren't showing up, as if they'd been erased. I've been playing since the game's launch on PlayStation 1 and continued playing until the servers went down. I really don't want to start my Destiny 2 experience with such a huge loss. Please help.

Checking your account in the API throws a legacy platform error. Looks like you may have not migrated your account over to PS4, which in turn means it would have missed the August 1st 2017 deadline.
PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Legacy Consoles: The information on this page is only valid for Destiny on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Consoles.

Destiny 2 will recognize and reward some of the in-game accomplishments of returning players. To enable this, all eligible Destiny accounts automatically underwent an Account and Character Migration on August 1, 2017 to import account and character data into Destiny 2. Only Applies to Existing Data: Account and Character Migration will apply to all existing accounts on August 1, 2017. Any Characters created or game progress made after August 1, 2017 will not be represented in Destiny 2. Character Data in Destiny 2: To see their migrated data represented in Destiny 2, players will need to ensure that they use the same PSN or Xbox credentials when logging into Destiny 2.
https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049199871-Legacy-Support-for-Destiny-1-FAQ
