That's the post. IDK. It's probably because I never played Destiny 1 until recently (like last month) and that the location was basically new to me. Nothing in the game right now feels as good as running around at my own pace completing mini activities on the Dreadnaught.

12 RepliesThis is exactly what Destiny used to be . Running round wherever you wanted to go, doing whatever you liked and for how long. Nobody asked to be funnelled through a selection of unwanted missions at unreasonably hard skill levels with ridiculous barriers to overcome. People say that the game is dying, and some argue it's not, it's just in transition. In my opinion, the game did die when Edge of Fate was launched

This is exemplary of a larger problem with bungies current model. They develop areas as limited play spaces for events with a relatively short shelf life. The dreadnought, pale heart, kepler, plague lands and lawless frontiers. All will be abandoned. They abandoned large scale social spaces and the content they supported to create a bunch of small scale events focused in spaces with no social aspect. Seasonal events are fine. I actually enjoyed all of them, including reclamation, but it seems counter intuitive to remove what is quickly becoming the bulk of the games content.

Fr. This game was literally better before Edge of Fate. It’s actually insane how a game can get worse when the devs drop a dlc.

I miss chillin’ period. They made the game so every single activity is worthless unless you crank the sweatiness to 11. I’m really getting tired of it not to mention the bugs lately in PvE. I keep dying out of nowhere, inexplicably. Sure there are a couple build that makes it relatively easy, except it’s a couple build, and after two months I’m tired of running the exact same builds and gameplay loop. I’ve been trying a lot of different builds lately to fight off boredom in the game and a lot of stuff just falls apart in harder content. I almost wish they stop adding stuff to the portal because most of the additions lately sucked.

Lawless frontiers is the same kind of setup. With the same health regen and some secrets to find, not as much what the dreadnaught had, but still some. You can get a solo instance as well.

1 ReplyI really liked that season, Probably one of my favorite seasons. Dreadnaught in D1 was my favorite location =)

I totally feel you on your statement, the dreadnaught was fresh and fun.. The most I have played in a few years. It should be an on going activity, we paid for it, why not...

Dreadnought yes, Nether no, I never "Chilled" on that cheap dreadnought imitation Private Instances<Public Patrol spaces -
I wish I could finish that story arc, I was at part 3, but the time ended before I could complete it, it was very cool I did not enjoy the court of blades though, also the weapons were poor, looked good, but were not good to use, or practical Auto rifles with travel time, and bullets that move like flies, are a great way to die, and be ineffective in grand master nightfalls

1 ReplyEdited by CookieNiki: 1/30/2026 12:27:12 AMYeah, that was, hands down, the best content since Final Shape. But everything as an expiration date in this game. Stupid Bungie mentality.

9 RepliesYou would've loved it in D1 even more because you was able to do everything that the planets have(bounties, public events, lost sectors, etc.)

It was an awesome location in D1. So many secrets, calcified fragments. It truly felt dangerous.

Nether is coming back. Patrol destinations maybe not. People whined too much about them just because the last one Bungie tried wasn't the best. Hasn't been one since. Just very open activities with less and less exploration each iteration.

1 ReplyI liked nether except the part when i never seen a single adept Mirror Imago after +80 expert run... But everything else wqs crazy fun

Easily in my top 5 best seasonal activities….spent so much time in the nether 😭
