Its actually not supposed to be 500 its supposed to be 999. Now that you posted this I realised the combat telemetry thats currently dropping is the one that was used for the Handcannon armsweek which that one is still capped at 500, the other two for the shotgun Armsweek and now the bow armsweek are capped at 999. Still though there should be no cap regardless its and event currency that should only be usable during the event.

The limits are a joke anyway. Bungie's attempt at making a profit with virtual currency because they fail at making enough IRL mney, maybe? Example: upgrade modules were maxxed at 25 for all the time they were actually used as an item in game. Then someones "brilliant" idea spawned the Portal update and glimmer and cores being the upgrade material. now, if you earn upgrade modules from the "legacy" areas that still drop them, or have some from previous seasons that can be claimed through your account page, there is no max. I have had 48 upgrade modules in inventory, until they changed the upgrade cost back to what it was before Portal (just loose glimmer and cores now instead of modules, but same actual cost), at which point I had to dismantle each to upgrade. Honestly, just disregard all the previous drivle... at this point, even if they pulled all the limits and caps out of the game, made every weapon and armor piece a "1 and done red border" and actually made drops worth the effort (both legacy items and current drops), I can't see anything bringing this game back from the dead. Those still playing Destiny 2 are either just bored and looking for something familiar to eat a few hours of there day (like me) or still hold hope for the future. For those in the second instance, someone should tell them Santa isn't real and Uncle George shot and ate the Easter Bunny. Update: logged in on the Warlock and went to see Ada1. can pick up both starter quests for the event, even though all her event quests are done on my Titan. still can't spend currency though. So either the bugs are random (possible, although computers are stupid and only do what they are told to do so "random" isn't really a thing computers can do (remember that when thinking RNG drops in the game actually mean anything except Bungie creating the path they want you to follow in "your" game)) or Bungie is working in the background, scrambling to fix things before someone does a YT vid that will tank an already sinking public opinion of Bungie and truly destroy Marathon's launch in just over 30 days.
