Error code: Tapir

Hello Bungie team and community, It's now common knowledge among players why the "Tapir" error appears for many in the CIS region, even though there hasn't been an official statement from the studio (we understand the reasons and won't judge). Given this situation, I have two direct questions for Bungie: 1. Is there any timeline for resolving this "access issue"? A significant number of dedicated Destiny players live in or are temporarily located in CIS countries. These are truly devoted Guardians: some regularly purchase and complete every new expansion and Silver bundle; others can't imagine a day without completing their bounties. For many of us, Destiny 2 is more than just a game - it's a part of our daily lives and memories. Fans from the CIS are no different in their dedication from those living next door to the Bungie office or even working there. Yet now, we cannot log in normally. The only current "solution" involves using various workarounds, third-party services, and VPNs, which significantly degrades the experience and spoils the mood. Some of us (myself included) simply cannot or do not wish to resort to these methods for various reasons, but we still love this game deeply. It has been good enough to redefine our standards for all other games. 2. Given the access restriction, is it strictly enforced by Bungie, and would using such "workarounds" be considered a violation of the restriction or the Terms of Service? I've recently learned that many players are afraid or unwilling to risk logging in via these unofficial methods to bypass the CIS block. At first, this seemed odd, but upon reflection, such caution is completely valid. A clear official stance would provide much-needed clarity and peace of mind for those who still wish to play while respecting the rules. I sincerely hope for a detailed and empathetic response to these questions. It's only natural that receiving a vague, copied-and-pasted reply is frustrating for anyone in this situation. Unfortunately, I cannot play right now because someone has effectively forbidden me from doing so. I would truly love to see this fixed. Thank you, A loyal Guardian with bow

 •
Is there any timeline for resolving this "access issue"?
Unlikely as it seems to be a politically motivated issue. Until the political climate changes, we are unlikely to see any changes. Since they have stuck to their one line copy/paste reply, it is unlikely that they will stray from that. It is most likely a response that was at least legal dept approved if not crafted by legal to convey the message while being vague enough to avoid possible legal complicaitons.
Given the access restriction, is it strictly enforced by Bungie, and would using such "workarounds" be considered a violation of the restriction or the Terms of Service?
From a technical standpoint, any attempt to circumvent Bungie's restrictions can easily be seen as a breach of the Licensing Agreement and subject to additional actions such as a game ban. While they would be within their rights to do so, whether are not they choose to enforce would be at their sole discretion.
