Games from 5 or 6 years ago can push 18 or 20 by themselves. In general though you gotta commit to PC gaming for the price of entry. It’s not ‘dipping in’ when you can buy a Series S and play plenty of AAA games just fine for nearly a third of that asking price. You gotta decide if them frames and graphics are actually worth it. There are lots of cool games on Steam that aren’t on consoles but unless there are specific games you want to play or a specific reason you want to game generally on PC rather than consoles (mods for example, or emulation) I wouldn’t bother; it’s the same Call of Duty, the same Fortnite, the same Destiny, the same whatever. The GabeCube is around the corner so I would wait and see what happens to your options after that hits the market. As if you just want to have access to more games and steam sales then that’s likely gonna be your best bet as a console gamer. Personally, the kinds of games that aren’t ported to consoles (or take forever to be) tend to actually be the games I like best. Most of the time those are older games too, so when I shelled out for a gaming laptop the other year, the return for me was being able to ditch my consoles for 90% of my gaming needs (the only Xbox/PS games I play nowadays are specific older games that have terribly optimised PC ports or else no port at all), with plenty of headroom for modern gaming if I so choose (1080/60 is fine for me).

3 RepliesThe benchmarks don’t look good, & I wouldn’t recommend AMD cards. For that price, it doesn’t look like a good deal. For reference, a PS5 Pro costs less & performs better.
