The worse internet multi-player I have ever played.

The worse hit detection Horrible lag Huge latency Cheaters every where Doesn't matter if you have a hardwired connection Fiber internet and everything and my bullets go into thin air. Also, why does every opponent I face have a insta kill time. Someone help me explain it.

 • Welcome to pier-to-pier gaming! There are actually central servers; Destiny 2 is hybrid rather than pure P2P: these central servers host the map and all the connections, so thre are no 'host transfers' when whicvhever player was the actual host moves on. But everything your character does is computed locally, and then the whole packet is sent to the game server to update the shared game-state. This means all the actions that a player took are also computed there, like moving, using abilities, shooting, and whether that shot hit. And if what that shot hit was a player whose state hadn't been updated (due to lag or packet loss) from the central system, the local game sends back the info that the hit landed, and the central server is not smart enough to be triple-checking every piece of info in the incoming packet to see if it was calculated off out-of-date data. So you get instakilled by a player who you 'saw' too late to react to. Similarly, the player who is lagging may well get a packet through in the moments between you aiming and firing (or as the projectile travels if it's not hitscan), and suddenly the game finds out they aren't where it told you they were, and rushes to correct. So that person square in your sights suddenly shifts. tl;dr The way Destiny 2 is hosted really doesn't play well with bad connections, and that gives the person with the bad connection a slight advantage. As for why you're seeing so many, that's because the game population is in the toilet right now. So you're encountering the same ones over and over again, and the game also cannot afford to boot any more players, even if it needs to. That also applies to the cheating aspect, but the other part of that is that Bungie uses the 3rd party anticheat BattlEye, and BattlEye is trash. The games listed in their summary on Wikipedia are: an early Battlefield, PUBG, Arma 3, D2, War Thunder, and DayZ. For some reason Battlefield aren't using BattlEye any more, and I'm pretty sure all of the others have known cheater issues (War Thunder certainly did when I played it).
