Back in the day we would just run strikes until our controllers died and somehow that was ok!
Each strike told a story and you felt like you were making progress to one day fight the ultimate bad guy which later turned out to be the witness.
Compared to what we’re doing right now and let’s be clear I think the story has been a bit lost with the 9 and Lodi. Seems like the 9 do more dying than they are menacing.
At one point we were intimidated at the thought of fighting the ultimate bad guy.
If I were CEO of Bungie I would absolutely remove everything from the game and then tell a story with all 36 strikes with just like 10 second cut scenes before and after each strike giving an awesome build up on how the Vex took over time travel and how us guardians now have to restore the timeline and maybe like Maya (the conductor) accidentally stumbles upon a timeline in which Atheon actually defeated us ( guardians do not control their fate ) now we have to destroy like Super Aethon or something.
I would then restore every exotic weapon and armor that has ever existed in the franchise to really deliver that classic Destiny feel. I would also restore every crucible map in franchise history.
No more:
• portal
• invasion
• alerts
Just good old fashion:
Strikes
Crucible
Iron banner
Trials
For strikes you would have
Story ( normal )
Heroic ( hard ) - most players would stay here
Nightfall or Mythic ( very hard ) - hardcore gamers
I wouldn’t make it to where people feel like they’re missing out by not playing Nightfall or mythic.
Story: you get one great piece of armor or weapon.
Heroic: you get one armor and weapon.
Nightfall: you two pieces armor and two weapons.

1 ReplyTelling the entire story in strikes is a horrible idea
