At first it sounds crazy.
But hear me out.
On launch/contest day of a Raid or Dungeon new, unique, mechanics make sense and I want that for those hardcore and dedicated gamers. After however I don’t want to have to consult a YouTube video to learn the game. I should be able to learn the game in game, novel concept I know.
But in order for Lfg and Guardian finder to work. We gotta know what’s happening. This guy does a decent video on the subject. I feel like Bungie can save a strike or lost sector upon release of a DLC/expansion until after a that contents raid/dungeon has been completed for launch day or contest mode.
Then it feels ergonomic that normies as myself know how to interact with these puzzles once I see them. Kind of like the exotic mission that you can do with the Deep Stone Crypt mechanics. With the grind of the Lost sectors in the portal this seems like the perfect way I can learn about them via the game actually teaching me.

3 RepliesGranted, FFXIV is kind of like that. Stacking, tank busters, dodging AOEs etc. Harder content just requires more coordination. But idk how that would transfer into Destiny. The only thing is that we usually stand on a plate, carry a buff, throw balls, interact with something etc. But it doesn't really transfer into raids since they add so much. I still want the explorer mode to be the normal raids while harder modes are what normal mode is now.

1 ReplyBruh... the EoF campaign introduced a location-specific mechanic called MatterSpark. Everyone flipped their lids & made posts about how they're gonna quit playing & how stupid & awful it is to have "mechanics" in a campaign where ppl just wanna "shoot stuff" to progress. The majority of this community aint the brightest when it comes to "puzzles" lol.

3 RepliesEdited by Mudd-11: 11/22/2025 12:30:27 AMI would personally prefer an Explorer mode for Raids like they did for the 3 Dungeons during Rite of the Nine, as it taught mechanics and allowed new players to learn the encounters before going to the regular and Ultimate modes.

they had implemented this a couple seasons ago, feedback was great players loved it. We had been asking for it for years. Plus, it makes logical sense to have a tutorial in the dungeons and raids. and after we gave them our feedback of how awesome it was the next weeks update the tutorial was splotchy and wasn’t teaching much like the first week and then they just killed it altogether …. And why you say? …. Because if we have tutorials that teaches mechanics, we don’t need to hire coaches and services., it’s not that hard to figure out. the matchmaking is for the same reason,

Add an explore mode or something. Don’t mess up the more ‘basic’ activities with dungeon/raid mechanics.
