I really didn't think I would be able to get the Helm based on my scores. But when Bungie froze the scores early, my Crucible score allowed me my first 10% with just 137 points to spare. Then I followed Mactic's advice on how to run the Salt Mine activity, and I was able to get my second 10% score. The Helm is mine. So, thank you Bungie.
