Feels like Netflix
You know… Back in a days I used to always play Grandmasters, weekly dungeons, raids, just for fun, Sherpa people, working on titles.
Today opened the game, checked the bright dust store, bought couple shaders, opened this… Wretched, stinky, soulless portal, scrolled through all the activities in the fireteam tab, majority of them don’t have matchmaking. I launched proving grounds, I also noticed its says 326 but when clicking on it, its 324 rewards.
I customized, it launched me on my own.
I turned the game off completely. -blam!-, I miss days when I could just open finder, find a silly LFG and play some raids, join on friends who are working on catalyst at dungeons, silly conversations…
Grand Master nightfalls? Farming the best rolls possible for guns I want… Getting that rush when you finally get a God Roll lotus eater… All just gone.
Now it’s just a garbage imitation of Netflix. You know that feeling, you launch it to watch something, spend 30 minutes scrolling it, did not find anything, question why am I even paying for subscription and go watch something silly YouTube videos?
Thats exactly the vibes I get with Destiny. Literally same feeling. I want to play it, but it’s not the same game anymore. This call to arms event, I am not even interested in it, in its rewards, like at all. I have no clue what is going right now, what’s the meta, what’s the point.
Before I used to trying to get a nice guns for raids so I can deal insane damage, soloing dungeons, feeling strong.
Now, not so much. It’s just constant punishment and the most annoying modifiers to ever imagine. This scoring system makes me cringe. This light level farm, it’s just garbage.
Everything in this game is a total and complete garbage now. Of course I can still play raids, but there is not that many people there and i only have couple weapons lever up to 320. Also there is no reason for me to play those, since the guns for crafting or adept version are completely useless. Idk, I will play campaign of renegades, because I paid for it like an idiot and then I will never spend a single dollar on this game ever.
Remove this idiotic portal, score systems, modifiers and grandmaster nightfalls. Destiny without a word, nightfall is not a Destiny. It’s literally an integral part of Destiny identity…

I have been feeling the same way. I cancelled my Netflix because there was never anything good on when I would load in to watch something. Now, I load D2 while I have YT open on the other screen, check to see if any friends are on, or any good rotators are available. Ill sit in orbit for a little while, and when it times me out, I just shut off the game. Its getting to the point, where I might as well not boot the game anymore. I check to see if anyone is FTF Zero Hour, or a Conquest that I would want to run and help them out... I miss the old GM NF's, and rotating dungeons/raids, where you knew you would be able to find a group quick and run it. The changes coming into EoF were very nearsighted, and took away the weekly reset/rotation almost entirely. That rotation brought players together to run the weekly RaD content. Without it, and with the implementation of the Portal, the game has lost its social aspect almost entirely. I am halfway out the door at this point, I have lost the spark that I had for the game where I cared about every small detail that was in it. Now, I just have a generic build to run, and just go through the motions rather than trying. Im hoping that Renegades brings back that spark, but I have my reservations. I have other hobbies that I have been thinking about in my free time, time that used to be consumed with thought for this game. I loved this game, and I dont want it to die... but it no longer feels like the game that I really loved to play.
