Hey Bungie, bring back gambit
Why not? It'd take minimal work for you to bring gambit up to speed with tiered loot and everything. Might bring back a few old players. You never know.

Gambit’s the main thing I miss about D2. Would love to see it get refreshed. Some people got bored of the repetition and others disagreed with how invaders work, but the activity has huge potential. Different modes (including regular, Prime and a more limited invader mode) would help. It really needs more maps, more enemy wave variation, different boss fights, etc. I don’t see Bungie investing that much into it. Not yet anyway. Let’s see what the future holds. 🤞

I’m pretty sure in a TWAB a little bit ago they announced gambit was gonna get some updates in the future. Not sure why it was in the survey if they had already planned on delivering something for it. Maybe they haven’t even started. Yeah. Probably that.

If we get Gambit Prime back might be good, remember being the collector and dropping 20 motes? That was (pun intended) the prime of Gambit. We had The Reckoning alongside Gambit, don't forget to bring that back with it. As long as they do something about the forced deltas, banes, and ammo/hud modifiers.... we absolutely do not need that in Gambit. -
YES I play gambit more than most other modes...I'm almost got my 1K wins...it's very demoralizing when you favorite part of a game is so neglected...at the very least make the gear relevant ....

I don’t know why they abandoned it. There were so many easy changes that would have made things better. Not only that, but they removed maps from the game for no reason. That said, there is supposedly a new mode in renegades that is PVP/E just like gambit.

They need to take parts of what they have in Onslaught and bring it into the mix for Gambit. Wanna invade, careful of the Stasis laced trip mines! Either set up turrets on your side or the invading side. Go invade with a skyrocket marker. Maps could've been larger in size. Move through a Fallen Gate from one end of the map to the next. Get shot across the field in a Cabal dropship launcher (Enjoy the ride, Osiris 🥴) Did The Nine just leave a Brig (or Goliath Tank) on the playing field?!? We should've had maps that were locations in Europa, Kepler, Savathun's Throne World, Neomuna, and Pale Heart. We could've had all-Taken or all-Dread to fight for motes. It would've been a nice way to get a feel (ahead of time) to this added feature to those Ops they're introducing in Renegades.

6 RepliesNah. It died for a reason. And they never balanced invaders until it was too late and nobody cared anymore. This game is never getting its population back. So these pvp modes will always just have a high chance of playing against tryhard toyboys. Its why Trials sets a new low for player count every single week now.

I agree with you. I'd like to see Gambit back to relevance. I don't agree with you that it would be easy in any way. I believe it would require a lot of resources. And I don't think anything but a complete rework would motivate most players to spend much time on it. The Gambit meme is real.

I could see a world where they bring it back but ruin it with modifiers though. And we all know that the majority of people in MM won't check modifiers so you'll be stuck in matches where your team mates cant break shields or some other crap. Or revives, wouldnt that be crazy?

When Gambit first released and I saw that Dredgen title, I played nonstop til I got it. Gambit was still my go to through everything. Bungie didn't care enough to maintain or nurture that mode. Make Gambit Great Again!!

Bring back Gambit Prime. With all the armor intrinsically selectable on gambit armor only. The current system lends for it perfectly.

They keep hinting they are, can't wait. Best mode in the game, not named raids and dungeons. Side note: Since they told us they weren't doing any more buffs/nerfs to gambit and to go in at your own risk, I've had great matches. Better teammates and opponents cause the main people in the queue, just like the mode, like me.

Nah they should of killed gambit months ago ! Gambit was amazing when it first dropped not now ….a lousy sad one round one mode now …zero rewards now. Bungie need to pump some new life into PvP …more players and easy to do .

A year ago everyone complained Gambit was neglected etc etc etc. Along with the storyline I think we can let this one go. It had a run way longer than it really needed IMO. The best I think they could do is just put it in rotation like Iron Banner and such so it doesn't stay too stale and monotonous like it was.
