Top 1% scores are pay to win
Just finished grinding to 550 and did a good run of salt mines with a most wanted enemy, wondered why my score was still just barely below 1%, and then i remembered that you get a score boost from the rewards pass. By the end of the event it seems like top 1% scores will literally be impossible without the rewards pass.
Kinda wanted the emblem just because itll be rare but i guess i just wont bother. And before anyone says it, no, im not buying the rewards pass when i can get all of the rewards for chronologs at some point, i only bought it when it actually gave content.

Somehow, I managed to work my way high enough to get the Helmet. That's good enough for me. I don't care about a stupid Emblem. As long as I don't lose my placing for the Helmet, that's all I care about.

1 ReplySpeaking as someone who has purchased access to every D2 Season Pass to date, I believe that if this score bonus is going to remain in game that it should be moved to the [b]free[/b] track of the Reward Pass, that way it can be earned by anyone willing to put in the time to unlock it. While I think it’s perfectly fine to lock content and gear behind paywalls, this score bonus being on the [b]paid[/b] track of the Season Pass does not mesh well with the goal of trying to get the player base to post high scores for Portal Activities during what is an otherwise [i]free[/i] Event. Got my top 1% by grinding for my levels and gear. Paid for the expansion to support the game, free to play does not help Bungie and or destiny 2. Destiny 1 was never free to play and look how well it turned out, it's praised as the best version of destiny by everyone and for good reason. As soon as Bungie made destiny 2 free to play was the day the game went on life support. Destiny 1 has everything from a beginning to an end in the game with everything in-between still to this day. Destiny 2 lost everything from red war to seasonal story lines and content every year, that is what killed the game and continues to do so. If you are a free to play player, well that's on you to choose not to support the game at all, and for those that do support the game the rewards are there for them. At the end of the day any and every game you buy is pay to win in a sense.
